Kinky Curly Come Clean Shampoo

With so many new cleansing conditioners at the drugstore I’m kinda in co-washing heaven at the moment! But with co-washing there comes build up so I recently indulged in Kinky Curly Come Clean Shampoo to de-gunk my hair.

I’m actually quite happy with my Carols Daughter Rosemary Mint Purifying Shampoo and a Carols Daughter Rosemary Mint Purifying Conditioner or my Lush Antiphilitron Shampoo when I’m looking to detox my hair but I’m a beauty junkie at heart and always looking for the next best thing which is why I grabbed up Kinky Curly Come Clean Shampoo during a recent Beauty.com spree.

Silicones build baby especially if you have long hair! If you use styling products, shampoos, conditioners, etc that contain silicones you’re likely building up a good deal of product in your hair to a point that your hair starts looking lifeless, lackluster, and greasy. It’ll start to feel heavier too and just grimy. So once a week you do need to spend a hot second and clarify it with a good clarifying shampoo and conditioner.

Kinky Curly Come Clean Shampoo actually reminds me of a cheaper thinner consistency formula of Lush Antiphilitron! They even have the same lemony scent! This formula includes Phytic acid which not only removes all the grime and build up in your hair but also hard water minerals such as calcium and magnesium.

This is a very light, liquid-y shampoo that doesn’t lather up a ton but still manages rinse away all the gunk in your hair. It gets hair SQUEAKY clean! So much so with the first use you’ll find your hair feels much, much lighter. It’s not without issue though as I find it’s a tad drying on my already drier hair but nothing I can’t handle once a week to remove build up. It’s an excellent way to degrease as well if your hair is prone to greasiness. It rinses out easily and for something that doesn’t create mounds of foam it really gives hair a nice, throughout cleansing.

I can’t recommend this one enough!

Excellent shampoo for clarifying especially if you’re a chronic user of cleansing conditioners from brands like Wen!

Loves it!

I only have tried a Kinky-Curly hair gel, which I love since it’s not crunchy and so on. This sounds intriguing, though. I wish you’d have a before and after shot (or at least an after). I’d like to see an after on curly or wavy hair with this shampoo!

I find it very interesting that the cleansing agents are not listed immediately after water, and that the extracts are so high on the list. I try to stay as far away from silicones as possible and can get away with adding some baking soda to my shampoo once a month to clarify, but this sounds like something worth checking out.

As a note: I spotted this little guy last night at Target on an end cap, so anyone interested should maybe check out their local Target! 😉

I tried this shampoo several times on my hair & my daughters hair too, it left both our hair after rinsing feeling hard & straw like. My hair type is 3b/3c & my daughter 3c/4a. I asked a friend of mine whom recommended me to try “COME CLEAN” if it left her hair feeling the same way & she informed me that it did. After that conversation, I went to search blogs to see if it was giving others the same effect & I found several others claiming the same results. I stopped using it and switched over to another brand. It does get your hair SUPER clean but it stripped too much of my natural oils from my hair. That’s why it left it feeling hard and straw like. Good shampoo for cleaning but not so good without stripping texture in the process.
