Milani Bella Blue Lip Art Lipstick2

Milani Bella Blue Lip Art Lipstick ($3.99) is a new limited edition blue shade of lipstick that Milani recently released for Summer 2014.

Lord knows, I wish I can rock blue lipstick but Milani Bella Blue Lip Art Lipstick can be used in other ways!

Milani Bella Blue Lipstick

Milani Bella Blue Lip Art is marketed as a full coverage blue lipstick. I find the shade isn’t quite full coverage and runs more sheerer. It will look different on an array of different skin tones which makes it unique.

This is a different packaging for Milani as you can see. This comes in a clear case so you can see the complete lipstick inside. It’s a very Shu Uemura take on packaging!

It is a rather lovely shade of blue that has an almost metallic, silver sheen. The shade almost looks like a blueish gray. It does not apply fully opaque on first application so I could easily see my natural lip color on the first layer. Three layers will give you more pigment but you’ll find the shade a bit translucent even when built. If you want the best color pay off and the bluest one you’ll need to neutralize your lips by using a lip primer of sorts to nude your lips out. You can even use maybe an old nude zombie color lipstick that might be hiding in your makeup graveyard to nude your lips out prior to application and apply this on top so you get a more pigmented color pay off.

The texture of the lipstick is quite nice. I wouldn’t say as creamy as Milani Color Statement Lipstick but it has a slicker texture with an easy glide and isn’t drying in the least although it will have to reapplied without three or so hours because it does fade quickly when worn without anything under it.

I can’t really wear blue lipstick. I like a bit, scary!!? But I use it either under or over red lipstick to add richness to the color. It kinda makes reds look even redder and more vibrant! So if you’re worried Milani Bella Blue Lip Art Lipstick isn’t for you, don’t, because it is workable in other interesting ways! Heck, I haven’t tried, but maybe you can even get along using as a creamy shadow!

Milani Bella Blue Lip Art Lipstick is available now at Walgreens.

Anyone grab it?

What was your experience with it?

Intriguing. It’s pretty pigmented, from your swatch. Can you give an example of what it looks like over a couple different lipsticks, like a true red and maybe a coral shade? I’d love to see what it does with those.

If a store near me sold Milani(moved to Vermont and no drug store seems to haves them) i’d so buy this. I’m a sucker for blue lipstick even if i rarely use it.

It’s not exclusive to Walgreens. I saw this collection at Meijer today.

Muse you are such a tease! You KNOW we all wanted to see that on you since you mentioned the collection a while back! Can you be persuaded?

lol sorry but there’s only so far I’ll go for the blog 🙂 hehe!

Ooh, it comes in the same packaging as Jordana lipsticks! Like astronaut-awesomeness.

Blue makes your teeth look whiter. You can blend it with pink to get a purple shade.

I think I really just want this because, one of my kitty cats is named Bella Blu.

But the tip @Pam suggested would also be cool.

I love to shock my very conservative husband. I’m going out tomorrow and getting that for sure.

Once he told me I could ‘go natural” and not have my gray died because I would look just as beautiful to him. Hah! My hairdresser lent me a gray wig.

I told him I was going to go to my appointment and go natural just for him. (he would never know you couldn’t get that done in one day)

When I came home the look on his face was priceless! He doesn’t say ANYTHING like that to me anymore.

LOL too cute Pamela ;-D I’m sure coming home with blue lipstick will def tip him into the realms of “WTH!?”

I always want this stuff but can’t wear it anymore so… 🙂
I do like the packaging too.

Lipstick shades like these are realistically reserved for Halloween and eccentric popstars. Maybe if the shade wasn’t so frosty and more satiny/matte instead it could just maybe pass for an everyday high fashion type of shade.

I know it doesn’t look great on me for daily looks but I don’t think it’s necessarily reserved for Halloween or pop stars. There are quite a good deal of folks who rock blue lipstick 🙂
