Sleek Makeup Bare Skin Foundation

The new Sleek Makeup Bare Skin Foundation arrives just in time to keep in touch with the lightweight, natural Summer coverage trend we’re currently seeing at the moment!

I’m really on board with these newer generation of bare skin foundations that are cropping up everywhere. I don’t need or desire a face full of foundation so I welcome something lighter and more natural that will even out my skin tone, ease dullness, yet remain lightweight and breathable especially in the Summer!

Let’s that a look at the new Sleek Makeup Bare Skin Foundation!

Sleek Makeup Bare Skin Foundation2

I don’t like Urban Decay Naked Foundation! I should make that known here prior to reviewing Sleek Makeup Bare Skin Foundation as I know many of you are going to wonder, “Well, is it like Urban Decay Naked Foundation?” I feel comfortable saying that Sleek Makeup’s Bare Skin formula is much better and much cheaper although a little shorter in wear. I find Naked Foundation a little too slick on my face and I dislike the texture of it but Sleek Makeup’s version manages to capture the hydrating factor but also keep the product creamy and smooth without creating shine or oil.

Bare Skin Foundation is available in 12 shades and promises breathable coverage with a formula that illuminates skin, evens it out, and provides weightless coverage!

The foundation comes housed in a glass bottle with an attached pump which happens to work beautifully as it doesn’t pump out too much product. I find the formula morphs as it starts out life as a creamy texture but as you apply, it breaks down and goes thinner and a bit watery. It’s quite hydrating and blends beautifully on my drier areas setting to a very smooth semi-satin finish that’s soft, light, and flawless. The coverage runs sheerer and can be built enough to conceal blemishes, redness, and minimal imperfections. It does a very good job brightening up my entire complexion, leaving my skin with a uniformed even finish that’s picture perfect. There are so few foundation products out there that give my skin a healthy, natural look but Sleek Makeup Bare Skin Foundation is in fact one of those formulas that does just that.

It does not create unnecessary shine or oil and truly does have a breathable second-skin finish that doesn’t look like you have makeup on nor does it feel like you do. Now it does apply and blend easily, it does look incredible on, but…the wear time is a little iffy with me. It’s a foundation that does need to be set with powder as I can only get about four hours of wear from it before it fades on my skin. If I set it with powder I can get about five hours of wear and maybe stretch it to six on a cooler day. The shorter wear worries me slightly since I dislike setting with powder due to my drier skin but right now, in the Summer, when my skin is a bit oily, I don’t mind so much!

Short wear time be damned though because Sleek Make Up Bare Skin Foundation brings luxury to my beauty budget life with an inexpensive foundation that feels super high end.

Loves this!

It’s available now at sleekmakeup.com for $13.49.

Did you feel like shell was a pretty good match for your skin? I only ask because generally foundations that match you match me, you’ve helped so much when it comes to ordering bases online lol

    • Isabella Muse

no unfortunately not cassi! I actually had to mix the two shades I got as shell was a touch too light!!!! it looked a bit pasty on me!

  • Marianne

This shade in Shell actually looks a lot like NARS Sheer Glow Gobi, which is my perfect shade! Do you think they are comparable? Also, how does the foundation compare to the NARS one, if you’ve tried it?

    • Isabella Muse

i’m not sure how the shades of the foundation compare Marianne as I never tried NARS Sheer Glow sorry!

  • Ayesha

Would you say Bamboo is a match for someone of a NW25 colouring? Thank you!!!

Ouch! my new year resolution *was* to not spend anymore on face products…at least till I’ve used half of all that I already have…and there goes my resolve with your review. Both this and Holika are on my shopping list now!
On the plus side, anything I’ve bought because it was Muse Approved has been a success, so I know that it will not be money wasted on something I won’t like, or use. Thanks so very much, Muse!
