Tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector 2

Tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector ($24) is new a color correcting CC Cream for under eyes available in two shade selections that promises to mask under eye discolorations as well as brighten the eye are with several different colored clays.

Tarte actually introduced a BB Tinted Undereye Corrector a little bit ago that I didn’t quite get on with and the new Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector quite looks like it right down to the packaging…!

If you’re comparing Tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector with the BB Tinted Under Corrector I’d call them very similar although there are a few little differences. This formula was created with light diffusing particles so eyes appear brighter and lines are softer and the correcting color clays at to offset the look of darker circles. Honestly, I do back away when I hear light diffusing particles because shimmer or sparkle isn’t a good look under my eyes. No need to worry those I didn’t notice any issues with sparkle or shimmer of any kind.

The texture is smooth, creamy, and highly emollient and I’d like it to grease paint-like formula. I imagine drier skill will love it but oily skin not so much so you’ll want to set with powder if you do have such an issue. I found the BB formula tugged a but during application and was thicker compared to this but not by much as the formulas really seem quite similar to me even right down to the sheerness once applied. You have to remember this isn’t quite a concealer though, it’s a corrector, so you can use it under your concealer for the best results. I have to admit I find it a little too much if I apply concealer over it though! Visibly you’ll see a brighter appearance with the first application. If you want to avoid over doing things I highly recommend grabbing a fiber concealer brush much like the Sephora Classic Multitasker Concealer Brush #21 I recently review and swirl it in the corrector. Now buff it under your eyes and sheer it out. You’ll find this creates brightness but doesn’t leave behind a TON of product thus you have plenty of play space to follow up with your concealer.

My main issue with the BB corrector was it felt a little too thick but I think the CC formulation seems considerably thinner and easier to work with. It wears well for me when I set it with powder but without powder I find it creases into my finer lines so be prepared to dust a silky powder under eyes to set it for the longest wear!

Tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector does add visibly brightness to my tired eyes but it doesn’t seem too much different from the CC formula that disappointed me. It’s a toss up as some people will likely love this and others may struggle with it. I find I have spend time with it to get it to look and wear just right!

Tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector is available now at Ulta, Ulta.com, Sephora, and Sephora.com.

I’ve been using this product for about a month and really like it! The dry heat here in summer is a challenge when it comes to makeup and I found that BB Corrector/Concealer were too thick and drying.

I use Caudalie SOS Morning Eye Rescue first and then apply this – I pat it in and then wait a bit and then smooth it out. I only need a tiny bit of BB Concealer on the darkest area by my nose.

The color match is perfect for me too – NW 20.

Does anyone know how this compares to the Pixi Brightening Peach Corrector?
