Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer

Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer for Fall 2014 is a new potted facial primer that blurs and fills pores for a flawless finish.

Potted facial primers seem to be gaining a bit of a following lately so I do wonder if they’ll start trending come Fall. It all started with Clarins Instant Smooth and more recently LOreal Studio Secrets Professional Secret Magic Perfect Base and Bourjois Paris Flower Perfection Transculent Smoothing Primer.

Let’s take a look!

Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer is a thicker facial primer that smooths and fills pores and fine lines. With an antioxidant-rich formula infused with vitamins C & E and green bean extract the primer gently melts into the skin delivering a surge of moisture, peptides and other naturally-derived elixirs for a firmer, smoother appearance. It promises a lightweight finish with a soft, powder-y fragrance.

The reason I like potted primer is I feel like they are easier to use on top of makeup should you like although I know some folks don’t really love the idea of jar packaging which is understandable.

Tarte Clean Slate was one of the first facial primers I ever tried so count me curious about the new Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer!

I’m definitely curious about this! I loved the original Clean Slate primer, so I’m interested to see some reviews on this! 🙂

I was about to order this on Tarte’s website until I saw how small the jar is for the money. Looks like it’s only .5 oz. If there’s something I really want, I don’t mind spending the money, but I did hesitate at the price for such a small jar. If it was 1 oz., I would have ordered it in a heartbeat along with the new eye primer stick.

Would this go before using a moisturizer or would it serve as one too? I usually use Estee Lauder’s Idealist to help with pores, but I haven’t seen much of a difference. I wonder if this would be better.

no, it’s a primer johanna used prior to makeup and after moisturizer. It isn’t a moisturizer, merely a facial primer. Hope this helps!
