Wen Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner Review

Wen Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner

I admit I was very excited about the launch of the Wen Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner! I’m such a fan of peachy scents that this ended up the top of my Summer list of must have items. I got in on a Wen Auto Ship at QVC of the Seasonal Blends in the larger sizes so I got my last shipment of Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner quite recently.

I didn’t really love Wen’s Orange Blossom scent but did, much to cries of no, like the Apple Spice one!

I was positive that Summer Honey Peach was going to be amazing…

But it missed the mark for me. Now don’t get me wrong I’m sure I’m in the majority here as Wen Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner has gotten HUGE raves across the board on QVC. But for me it wasn’t really what I expected. I thought perhaps it would be a fruity, sweet, juicy peach scent with a hint of floral honey but it’s really not that…

For me it kinda smells like weeds. Sort of like walking through a flower field and you get that green leafy slightly bitter scent from wild flowers and dandelions with a slight mix of peach. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a fragrance that I hate but it isn’t one that I love either.

Also like many of the seasonal cleansing conditioners I found this was an extra thick formula and was really difficult to rinse out. I also felt like my hair was a bit more knotty and tangled after use with a good deal of build up after. Granted, WEN is typically a thick formula but I dunno these seasonal blends always feel extra thick.

If you don’t know what cowashing is you might want to read my “What is Cowashing?” article so you can understand more about cleansing conditioners and how they work!

All in all I thought Wen Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner was a bit disappointing! The fragrance didn’t work me nor did the hard to use formula.

Oh well!

Fall is almost here and I surely hope a new pumpkin scent is in the works from WEN!

If you’d like to try Wen Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner it’s available now at qvc.com.

I purchased this item.

I am glad I was not the only one disappointed! Like you I thought it would be a more fruity, juicy peach scent. Sadly it is not! 🙁 I also kind of agree the formula is a bit wonky and hard to rinse out.

thank god because I swear sometimes I imagine this stuff haha! I always find the seasonals are SUPER thick and they end up making my hair knotty and the build up oh noes! I wanted juicy peach too 🙁 it just smells like weeds to me!? haha!

  • Ashley

Wasn’t a fan of the WEN products, although this scent combo sounds nice.

Sorry it didn’t work for you. 🙁 I didn’t like the scent of this one, but the formula has been great for me.

    • Isabella Muse

oh it’s ok! I’ll use it none the less 😀 I’m glad I’m not only in not loving the scent 🙁

I’m a 3+ year WEN girl, and have found that it works better on my hair if I don’t follow the instructions **GASP**. I use 4-5 pumps (I have very baby fine hair) every other day or so. I mush it all up in my hair, let it sit while I do the rest of my showering, and then rinse for a minute or two. However totally not the point of my comment. From what I understand, the seasonals are actually a cross between the original WEN formula and the Six Thirteen line which is why they are a thicker consistency.
    – a little musing from this anything-beauty-aholic 🙂

thank god it’s not me Janessa 😀 no wonder I feel like it’s a bit thicker 😀

I love Summer Honey Peach in all its forms- oil, mousse and styling cream, but this is my first adventure into the WEN seasonals. But as an FYI I hear the rumors on the Fall scent release is Tuscan Pear. We’ll see. Hugs to you Muse.

Ohhhhhhh no! I delayed my shipment. Will be getting mine in a couple of weeks. Now I’m leery. My favorite ones from this batch of seasonals has been the fall and winter ones. The spring one was just ok. I’m using it now.

SHP was a good formula, I think what we might have all been thinking is it would have been a faker peach smell (like B&BW Peach Bellini) and instead it was a very literal fresh peach with the scent of honey adding the floral aspect to it that we might be smelling. I get the sort of disappointment some people (including myself) felt. I can appreciate the realistic scent Chaz did create and it grew on me.
I can confirm that Fall Tuscan Pear is the new fall scent coming out September 1, 2014. I can not say with 100% certainty, but I can say that Winter White Citrus will follow it. 😉 In any event I love the excitement of Chaz’s seasonal releases!
Isabella Muse, if you get a chance to try Bamboo Green Tea CC I would go for it. Because it is rice based, like the Kids WEN formulas, it rinses out quite easy. It also makes my hair shine like crazy! Just remember it has more protein in, like 6 13, so using it all the time on healthy hair could end up making it feel a tad dry. I alternate it with other cleansing conditioners. August 30,2014 it is one if the choices for the TSV. I can share more information on the TSV if anyone likes…. 😊

    • Isabella Muse

oh I’d love info on the TSV thanks nicole you’re always a fountain of info! I got the Bamboo Green Tea but haven’t tried yet ;-D Def have to crack that open!!!!!!!!!

      • Nicole

LOL, not sure about a fountain of info, but thanks… 🙂
The August 30,2014 WEN Salon Experience TSV will include the following items: 32 oz Cleansing Conditioner with matching 6 oz Styling Creme, matching 6 oz Volumizing Treatment Spray, and matching 2 oz Remoist Mask. Choice of Pomegranate, SAM, Fig, Lavender, Tea Tree, or Bamboo Green Tea. The price will be $59.96 available on two easy pays. Auto delivery and one time shipment will be available. Auto delivery includes 3 shipments every 90 days (I am guessing on the 90 days sort of). I also have the item numbers, but understand they are not activated yet so they cannot be used to order until closer to the day of the TSV. Auto Delivery: A263316 and One Time Shipment: A256811. This set purchased from Chaz would be $164 so it is a great deal. 😀
