EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balm Sphere 2

EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balm Sphere is a newly launched, reformulated Lip Balm Sphere available in two shades for Fall 2014.

I was quite curious about the new EOS formula since I already love and use the old version. Of course, the older formula isn’t terribly hydrating but it’s enough moisture that it leaves lips pleasantly softened through the wear.

Let’s have a look!

EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balm Sphere

Ok, so aside from new packaging which has a fun swirl design I’m not technically seeing much difference in this formulas. I compared the old version to the new and they appear to have identical ingredient aside from the addition of coconut oil in this new formula.

I tried Vanilla Mint which is a new flavor. It’s quite delicately scented and flavored so if you’re sensitive to fragrance/flavor in your lip product this should be an issue.

As you can see it has the same great half dome design that fit lips quite nicely. I love applying these as they have a nice, easy glide across lips. They leave behind a slightly waxy balmy textured finish which keeps lips pleasantly softened through the wear. Some folks say it’s not enough moisture but I’m ok with it! Granted, it isn’t going to change your dry lip life but it’s enough moisture that you can quickly apply at your desk and get some needed relief for drier lips.

The EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balm Sphere is definably a little confusing. I expected a dramatic change in the formula but it’s about the same we’ve come to either love or not love from the regular line of EOS Lip Balm Spheres. Of course, you get the addition of new packaging and a new flavor with this launch!

Available now at Ulta.com or at drugstores.

Tried the new formula?

Does this have that mint oil in it as well? I know it is Vanilla Mint but I used to be able to enjoy mint scented/flavored things w/o getting a bad reaction, and now that the mint oils are being used for plumping, etc. and are included in a lot of balms lately, I’m having a bad time.
The softlips cubes were so awesome, and I used up the Pomegranate Blueberry just fine, then the mint one made me break out, made my lips all chapped and flaky and I was so disappointed 🙁

i posted the ingreds on the bottom of the post M, as far as I can seeit doesn’t contain mint oily but does have a mint flavor and fragrance. I liked the cubes as well good stuff 🙂

I bought the coconut one (off eBay for like $17!) cause we can’t get eos lip balms in Australia, but I’m actually really happy with it! I feel like it’s a lot creamier than the original ones 🙂

omg nina surely you could have gotten it cheaper?! ouch 🙁 It’s a little creamier but seems a lot like the same formula to me!

Well darn, I thought they would have that nice swirl in the product. Oh well

I’m tempted to order a coconut milk one off ebay, they are taking forever to get in stores where. I live 🙁 think I should get one of these or that rosebud salve thingy :O?

I got both flavors, coconut is pretty elusive so it took a while to find.
I feel like these soften any rougher skin patches I might have. Where the original formula would just sit on top of it, not really doing much.
I def feel this is smoother.
Keep in mind the ingredients might not be too different, but even something as simple as a change in the processing of the ingredients can make a huge difference in the final formula. 😉

very true jen! look at dream wonder fluid vs lancome magic powder 🙂 a little different and the formula is completely diff. I didn’t really feel these were too different though for me, a bit creamier but overall felt the same as the original! needless to say I love EOS lip spheres anyway so I don’t mind either way

I have the vanilla mint one but ever since I started using it my lips have become very dry and flaky. It’s weird because I didn’t get the same reaction with the regular eos. So I’m going back to my regular eos instead because I don’t like the feeling of burnt lips and that’s how mine feel ever since I started using the new eos. 😔
