MAC Pink Sprinkles Blush Review & Swatches

MAC Sideshow You Blush9

MAC Pink Sprinkles Blush ($24) is one of two limited edition powder blush shades launching with the MAC The Simpsons Makeup Collection. Pink Sprinkles might have you think of Homer’s favorite tasty donut treat but this collection is actually something that celebrates Marge as you can see from the packaging! The blush comes housed in a black lacquer case with a yellow face plate featuring Marge’s fluttery lashes and legendary hair peeking back at you!

Let’s take a peek!

MAC Sideshow You

I admit that the other blush launched with this collection, Sideshow You, is my favorite of the two blushes in terms of color and formulation. The MAC Pink Sprinkles Blush is a lighter blue based baby pink with a matte finish although MAC calls it satin! I think the finish is very matte with a denser, slightly drier texture. It is fairly cooled toned with a sheerer color pay off but it builds easily however, the intensity of the pink you see in the pan is never achieved fully on the face in my opinion. It wears for a good eight to nine hours without fading or losing intensity. I had a little issue blending out because my skin is drier and mattes seem to like to go clown-y on me when my cheeks are drier so do prep well if you have a similar skin type!

MAC went a little larger with these blushes as they weight in at 0.33 oz in size versus the standard blush size of 0.21 oz. The outer packaging is a celebration of all things Simpsons with an appearance of many of your favorite characters including Maggie, Lisa, Bart, Homer, and many others. The inside packaging is more about Marge though. I dunno if this particularly shade reminds me of Marge but it does evoke Homer’s favorite treat that’s for sure (a pink frosted sprinkle donut!).

That shade looks very good on you particularly with the pretty blue you are wearing. I think it may be a smidge too pink for me.

Hi Muse, you look lovely and healthy, not the least bit clowny! I was wondering though, I thought only “Sideshow You” was online exclusive and “Pink Sprinkles” will be on the counters?

I have pretty dry cheeks too and I hate it when blushes don’t blend easily. I’ll be skipping both blushes.

I love blue toned pinks…. and i grew up watching the simpsons and always looked forward to their Halloween episodes as i’ve gotten older. So i think this is a win win and into my rotation it must go!
