Marc Jacobs Beauty Shooting Stars Lust for Lacquer
I actually got my Marc Jacobs Beauty Shooting Stars Lust for Lacquer ($28) free with the Sephora Marc Jacobs Beauty 1,000 Point Reward recently!
I know many folks expressed a strong dislike of the gift set but I thought it was rather a generous gift even though I had to spend a million dollars to get it ha…!
If you do like Marc Jacobs Beauty Shooting Stars Lust for Lacquer it is now available as a individual purchase at Sephora and Sephora.com.
Sephora calls the shade a mauve with shimmer. For me it’s a brownish warm plummy red with shimmer. I like brown reds and pinks but sometimes they can go wrong. This isn’t a shade that goes wrong but isn’t one I love either but none the less it is a nice color for Fall looks.
I’ve tried and loved the Lust for Lacquer formula in the past. This has a cool tingly feeling on my lips and a thicker texture that’s quite nicely hydrating and full opaque on two layers. It’s very smooth and creamy with a nice long wear of four hours with migrating or feathering. It doesn’t have a tacky feel nor does it feel sticky on. It does leave behind some shimmer when it wears away. The taste is unusual as it kinda has a minty play-doh kinda thing going on but it isn’t unpleasant to me!
Shooting Stars might not be for everyone but I think the Lust for Lacquer is an incredible formula. It’s light yet long wearing and quite comfortable with tons of pigment. Sure, it’s expensive as sin at $28 but honestly, if you’re going to be indulging in a high end lipgloss Marc Jacobs Lust for Lacquer definitely knocks the socks off high end gloss formulas all around.
I believe it sold out online but the Sephora Perk might be available in stores still or you can of course, indulge in an array of gorgeous shades at Sephora and sephora.com.
