Marc Jacobs Lovemarc Lip Gel Cabaret

Marc Jacobs Cabaret Lovemarc Lip Gel Lipstick was originally part of the 1,000 Point Perk at Sephora for VIB Rouge members (check your store, it might still be available) but can now be purchased on its own should you like.

I’m a fond fan of the Marc Jacobs Beauty Lovemarc Lip Gel Lipstick formula so the fact that Sephora was offering it along with a Marc Jacobs Lust for Lacquer as a free perk was quite exciting! Sephora’s VIB/Rouge perks have been improving lately and I think the Marc Jacobs 1,000 Point Perk is testimony to how well they’ve been doing. Lord knows you have to drop a good deal of cash to get the “perk” but no one can deny getting two full size Marc Jacobs Beauty lip items is a pretty nice perk none the less!

I wish Marc Jacobs Cabaret Lovemarc Lip Gel was as warmer a red as it looks in online promotional swatches. Unfortunately, rather than red it’s a darker berry wine that looks almost purple on my lips! It has a nice glossiness to it with a gorgeous full coverage pigment on a swipe.

This comes housed in a simple yet chic black magnetic case. I’m not really a fond fan of the packaging Marc Jacobs went with for his Makeup Collection but I cannot deny that sometimes understated and simple is quite nice!

This formula is divine. It glides onto lips without tugging and has a gel-like consistency that’s rich, creamy, and lightweight. It has a nice hydrating feel on and doesn’t migrate, feather, or apply unevenly. I love how shiny it is on lips! It wears for a solid five hours and leaves a bit of staining behind after. It has a subtle vanilla flavor and fragrance. Apparently the formula has 3-D optical volumizers so lips appear fuller upon application.

It’s truly a luxurious formula. I’m not terribly keen on this shade but I have others that I simply adore!

If you like plummy, berry wind shades I’m sure Marc Jacobs Cabaret Lovemarc Lip Gel will agree with you!

It’s available now at Sephora and Sephora.com.

Great to know that the formula is divine! Cabernet looks like a beautiful rich, fall shade. I like the cooler tones best on me with my cool toned complexion, but I think it looks beautiful on you, though pretty much EVERYTHING looks great on you!

Pam you’re awesome for my ego thank you! <3!!!!!!!!!! The formula is great on these, I have the vault they released for the Holidays plus some additional shades and they are really outstanding 😀

Awww, it’s all true. Since you’re lucky enough to have so many (I’m a little jealous!), which shade do you think would look best with my fair to light cool skin tone? Warm shades look terrible on me. Something in a mid-tone range maybe.

strange magic might be nice for your cooler skin 🙂 It’s a nice nude pink! perhaps good for an MLBB (my lips but better) shade!

Thanks for the rec, I’ll check it out. Wonder how it compares to the new Nars Audacious lipsticks.
