MUA Makeup Academy All Over Shadow Brush Review

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

MUA Makeup Academy Eyeshadow Brush

I was quite excited to get my hands on the MUA Makeup Academy All Over Shadow Brush because, yes, it’s true, MUA Makeup Academy is now sold at CVS! Unfortunately, we aren’t getting many of the color color cosmetics that the UK has but there is a very extensive selection of MUA Makeup Academy Professional Makeup Brushes as well as many lip products and a line of false lashes created exclusively for CVS.

Shall we take a look at the MUA Makeup Academy All Over Shadow Brush?

MUA All Over Shadow Brush

The MUA Makeup Academy All Over Shadow Brush is an $11 dollar brush with a full, slightly rounded bristled head that has a sturdy resin plastic black handle. According to my press release the bristles are made from both synthetic and animal fibers however, the back of the box for this brush states it is made from natural fibers! It does not have the bunny cruelty free emblem so I cannot confirm if the brush is or is not cruelty free unfortunately.

The bristles are soft yet dense but not as soft as say Too Faced Teddy Bear Hair bristles. You can definitely tell there’s some if not all synthetic fibers in these bristles but it didn’t take away from the performance of the brush in the least. The brush didn’t shed nor did it suffer from splits after being subjected to three separate washings. After washing it retains its shape well and didn’t become stiff, split, or unusable.

It applied and blended out eyeshadow very nicely and the brush on a whole performed well.

I do admit though I had reservations about the price tag. I wish they price was as cheap as what we’ve seen from the brand in the UK. And also I couldn’t help but think that the E.L.F. Studio Brush Collection had brushes that are just as good and at a fraction of the cost of this particular shadow brush.

The quality is here, I just wish the price was a little more reasonable!

The MUA Makeup Academy All Over Shadow Brush and the entire MUA Professional Makeup Academy Makeup Brush Collection is available now at CVS and CVS.com.

With this price I don’t think I’ll bother looking for them. There are so many nice brushes to be had for less or the same price!

I bought the BB cream buffing brush…it shed so bad. I buffed in a light foundation and I had black hairs all over my face!! I paid 18 bucks for it…wanted to return it, but I threw the packaging away. Lesson learned. Maybe mine was defective and someone else will have a better experience.

oh no! I didn’t try any of the face brushes as of yet but the shadow brush was good. washed it a few times as I was worried about the fibers but they held up well! The price, well, that I wish was a little lower but aside from that quality was good! Sorry about the BBC Cream Brush 🙁

The SAME thing happened to me, it shed terribly, and I couldn’t return it. So its in the trash now! haha oh well!

I bought the little tiny blending/crease brush and it also shed everywhere, I have washed it several times and the shedding has decreased but it shouldn’t shed at all, very disappointed especially with the cost of it!

only tried one brush so far Diana but getting worried now to indulge in the others I had plans to purchase!

I too bought the BB cream brush and had black hairs all over my face as well. I washed it thinking that would help and two long white strings came out of the brush. This was hands down the worst brush I’ve ever bought and it costs $18.00…..smh

Something I read,”made exclusively for CVS” made me think that these are not the same brushes sold by MUA. I mean they are made by MUA but not the same as the originals. These were made specifically to be sold in CVS.
To explain a little better, Rowenta makes irons that are a good product and pretty expensive. You can get a ROwenta iron at Costco for a lot less. BUT – here’s the key, IT’s not the same iron that Rowenta sells at the higher end stores. This one is still made by Rowenta but “made specifically to be sold in Costco”.
I hope that made sense. ANd, I’m sorry everyone had bad experiences with the face brushes.
I have not tried this brand before and I do appreciate your post and everyone’s comments as well.
