Pixi Concealing Concentrate3

Far be it for me to rave the new Concealing Concentrate because it is a matte finish concealer/corrector and lord knows these dry eyes need moisture.

But I’ve fallen in love with this little pot of awesome and you might just feel the same way as I do!

Pixi Correction Concentrate
has a bit of a cult following especially with the oily eyes and lid guys and girls out there. This matte finish corrector can be used alone or worn under concealer to correct dark circles and give eyes a brighter look. I tried it when it originally launches but my drier eyes didn’t dig the matte finish.

I admit I have some of the same feeling for the new Pixi Concealing Concentrate but if I’m really careful when prepping this stuff knocks my socks clean off.

It comes housed in a very tiny glass jar and weights in at 0.07 oz in size featuring a green lid with the Pixi emblem and fairy gracing it. It’ll set you back a mere $12 bucks so this won’t break the bank!

Available in a singe Adaptable Beige shade this is a neutral beige with a hint of yellow. I’d say if you were comparing both the Correction Concentrate and Concealing Concentrate the formulas are very similar as are the shades but this does contain A LOT less peach than the original color and leans towards more being more yellow. But I noticed that this shade actually oxidizes a bit and goes lighter upon application and brightens up my entire eye area in a major way.

This is full coverage so you might be disappointed by the sheerness but it has the ability to brighten up the eye area so much you might not mind the sheerness. A single application gives me four hours of extra sleep under these tired, baggy eyes. I’m used to wearing a heavier more pigmented concealer and this is very light with a super matte finish. It’ll likely drag a fair bit if you have deeper lines under your eyes. But for those with finer lines and dryness I simply recommend prepping well with eye cream prior to use and using a small concealer brush to apply. You’ll find it applies smoothly if you take proper care with moisture. You can of course, use concealer on top of it as it’ll work either alone or together with your fav concealer formula. It’s actually so brightening that I don’t feel the need to follow up further with more concealer. However, it even looks better with concealer on top so either way works out great!

It does have a rather firm texture with absolutely no moisture. This isn’t slick or moisturizing in the least which makes it a good pick for oily skin as it does hold very well and provides a fairly long where. If I apply it with very little moisture I find it creeps into finer lines but if I take proper care of my eyes prior to applying it has a smooth lasting finer without creasing into lines. It is not forgiving so it’s up to you to apply moisture for the best results.

I didn’t really feel like the Pixi Correction Concentrate brightened my eyes up but where that formula failed for me, Pixi Concealing Concentrate excels! This really adds a nice, natural radiance under my eyes. I look less tired and more refreshed. I have finer lines, puffiness, but not hardcore dark circles and this just adds a really nice touch of freshness under my eyes!

Pixi Correction Concentrate isn’t going to work for everyone as it’s available in a single shade but it might just surprise many skin tones as it’ll add a nice brightening effect under eyes and works well under concealers if you want to contour with it! The matte finish is troubling for drier eyes so be sure to prep well for the best benefits!

This is actually a product that surprises and delights me!

I liked it a lot and do recommend checking it out in store. Target does always have testers out and available so it’s a good way to get a feel for the product.

The Pixi Concealing Concentrate along with all the other goodies from the Pixi Fall 2014 collection is launching now at Target stores or online at Target.com.

I definitely want to try this as I really like Pixi products. I love how honest your reviews are. Some people seem to give biased reviews to companies that give them PR samples to review, but I have never gotten that impression from you. I read your blog daily and it is my go to for new products. I make my decisions based on what I like and your reviews. Also, you have gotten me into Korean beauty products, which is my new obsession!!

aw thank you amy 🙂 <3! I really appreciate you reading daily!!!!! haha Korean beauty is dangerous be careful 😀 you'll be broke soon hehe!

Wow, this is a really helpful review. Like you, I am a concealer person and always on the lookout for something that might just be THE. ANSWER. I will definitely give this a try.
    Thanks!

thanks Kellly glad you though so! It’s not the end all but it is a great way to brighten up 🙂

Paired with my La Mer eye cream this stuff is doing wonders for my tired eyes.

Muse, thank you for the review! Do you know, how does this compare to the NYX peachy “Dark Circle Concealer”? I’m just curious. Thanks!

    • Isabella Muse

I didn’t really like the NYX Dark Circle Concealer Sarah. It was too orange and the formula was very dense and difficult to apply so wouldn’t really compare the two formulas.

I love this for hidding my dark circles even more than the Benefit Erase paste and byt I’m over 40 🙂

I LOVE this stuff! I don’t usually buy Pixi products because they are a bit more than I want to spend, but Pixi had a 70% off of their “last chance” items about a month or so ago and, while this wasn’t in their last chance section I received a rather generous sample of it and I plan on going to Target to pick some up as soon as I run out.
Have you tried the Bronze & Sculpt Trio or the All Over Magic Powder? Both products are amazing! I love them soo much. I’ve been lucky enough to receive full-sized Pixi bronzers in my Ipsy bag and one of the Tinted Brilliance Balms and love both. The only thing I’ve ever received from Pixi that I didn’t like is the Fairy Dust (eye shadow) because the applicator is simply too hard. It works ok if you dump some out and use your own brush, but even then the color is nothing to write home about. BUT…I’ve used the bronzers, the bronze & sculpt & the All Over Magic powder as eye shadows and they work amazingly well. I absolutely LOVE multi-use cosmetics products.
