Sephora Color Lip Last Lipstick Swatches (Wanted Red)
I picked up Sephora Color Lip Last Lipstick in Wanted Red which is a dark matte red. I don’t really love or wear matte lipsticks often but I was fairly impressed with this formula. Fair warning though you’ll need an oil based makeup remover to get this formula off because it doesn’t want to quite! I wore it for a solid eight hours and I swear it didn’t transfer, migrate, or feather on my drier lips. The initial wear is quite comfortable. The texture is creamy yet thin and of course, not hydrating but not drying either. I have drier lips so I do have to prep well prior to application. Initially the finish is very smooth but if I don’t prep well I find the smoother finish starts looking less than smooth and the flakier areas around my lips show through so do prep well prior to application.
I’m honestly not comfortable wearing lipstick for longer than five hours. And this lasts well into seven! It’s the type of lipstick you apply and can just forget about as it doesn’t transfer, doesn’t fade, migrate, or feather! It just stays and stays and stays…! The first four hours went well for me but I did feel it got considerably drier as the time progressed! It won’t be too bad if you’re not prone to drier lips but might prove uncomfortable for those with. My problem was I had no way to remove it while at work so around hour five when I was feeling like it was a bit too dry I couldn’t get it off my lips. I needed some sort of oil based eye and lip remover to get it completely off.
Needless to say the wear is stupid good. The pigment is pretty darn great as well as a single layer provide opaque color coverage!
Overall, Sephora Color Lip Last Lipstick is pretty darn brilliant. I’m not comfortable leaving it on for more than five hours but this formula just doesn’t quite. If you want a truly long wearing, fairly comfortable, creamy matte lipstick with excellent pigment I do recommend checking this lipstick out.
