Sleek Makeup Gloss Me

Phoenix Rising and Tai Orchid are two of six new shades of Sleek Makeup Gloss Me Lipgloss that launches a few short weeks ago for Summer 2014. The new shades will be a permanent part of the Gloss Me Lipgloss Collection and will bring the number of shades up from six to twelve.

I’ve actually never tried the Gloss Me formula so this was a good excuse to dive in!

I think there are two drugstore brands that truly can do no wrong and Sleek Makeup happens to be one (Milani is another). Honestly, The Sleek Makeup Gloss Me formula is pretty darn great for its price point of $7.49.

This glosses have a slick, shimmery formula with a high shine finish and intense color pay off when built. The texture of the glosses as a soft, silkiness that wear very comfortably on lips with a super glass-like finish and a nice hint of shimmer that captures the light in just the right way. The precision tip straight sponge applicator saturates well with color and allows for easy application that’s loads with gloss on the first swipe! They have no taste or fragrance as far as I can tell which is a plus for sensitive users. The wear time is about three hours for me.

I do find you have to build these for example, Phoenix Rising, is a gorgeous vampy berry but it sheers out on a single layer and my true lip color is easily to see under it so I need at least two layers for the best opacity. The formula is also super slick which means it does like to migrate around so a clear, transparent lip liner wouldn’t go amiss here.

I think good gloss formulas are a little hard to come by at the drugstore. We have these new hybrid stain creamy lipsticks that are simply divine which are trending at the moment. But just a regular shiny nicely pigmented gloss seems to be a rarity as I always run across formulas that are either too thick, too heavily fragranced, or just glosses with formulas that aren’t comfortable to wear. Count be pleasantly surprised and pleased with the Sleek Makeup Gloss Me Lipgloss formula. Slick, shiny, with a nice but of shimmery and pigment these glosses are a nice budget pick!
