Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Palette1

Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Palette is possibly one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes at the moment. Gulp, I know, I just said I LOVE a matte eyeshadow palette. Urban Decay created this palette to celebrate the cult favorite film, Pulp Fiction and takes its inspiration from Mrs Mia Wallace’s look in the film. The palette contains five shades, three of which are brand never before scene shades!

And best of all the Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Palette comes housed in a limited edition shiny black case featuring Jule’s poetic bible passage on the cover, a double ended brush applicator, a generously sized mirror, and most importantly the outer box has a band aid, you know, to speculate over whether Marsellus’s cut himself while shaving or if his soul really was removed through the back of his neck. I personally support that the suitcase contained his soul and it was indeed removed through a hole in the back of his neck, ya know, because that sounds all kinds of crazy Tarantino.

Needless to say the homage this palette pays to all good things Pulp Fiction not only makes it a must have for fans of the film but it also brings together some eyeshadows that really work together to create a classic neutral eye look!

I’m not huge on matte eyeshadow as you know and I did fall in love with the Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Palette at first glance because I love the film. But my practical side was thinking, “meh I’ll never use this!” I also felt slightly disappointed looking inside as the shadows looked rather chalky but they surprised me because they are actually anything but!

All the shades in the palette were soft, silky, easy to blend, and quite pigmented. They weren’t chalky, dry, or dense! I was quite happy with their performance all around and didn’t have a single issue with any of the shades. On top of the smooth texture these are quite a nice deal as the palette will only set you back $34 and each weights in at 0.06 oz per shade!

I don’t really like tan shades for a nude look but both Tyranny and Vengeance pair up beautifully together to create a subtle contrasting neutral look! I know it only holds five shades but the looks you can create truly are endless as these shades just work so very well together to create a variety of different looks from subtle to dramatic.

Urban Decay includes a double sided brush as well with the palette. The brush is quite handy to apply and blend in a hurry with soft bristles that do not shed and a bright shiny metallic red handy to match the theme of the palette!

All in all not only do you get to celebrate all good things Pulp Fiction with this shadow palette but you also get an excellent, practical selection of eyeshadow shades you’ll reach for daily.

Urban Decay knocked this one out of the park. Don’t write it off if you aren’t a fan of Pulp Fiction or perhaps you think you already have similar shades. This is excellently formulated palette that’s sure to get a ton of use.

Loves it!

    ::Random silly, rambling opinion alert::

    Even though the colors are a little plain, I get that it’s supposed to be a recreation of Mia’s look in the movie, and I think they’re lovely, and the lip and nail color are perfect. I just can’t seem to get over how instead of doing a whole collection around PF where maybe Jules’ quotes didn’t seem so out of place, it’s a Mia Wallace collection but everything is about Jules as far as the quote, the names for the colors, etc. Because of this, something about this collection just seems off to me. When I heard about it I was expecting some palette filled with colors like “Mrs Mia Wallace”, “Honey Bunny”, “My Father’s Watch”, etc., something more fun. Focus on Mia is great but I would have rather had colors like, “$5 Shake”, “Comfortable Silence”, etc. to feel like it was actually about Mia. *shrug*

      Aw I understand! 🙂 I kinda like that they had a little mia in there, a little jules, and even a little Marcellus too ;-D

    I think this is probably the first UD palette I have absolutely no interest in whatsoever. I saw it at Ulta and it just confirmed my feeling.

    HOWEVER, I am chomping at the bit waiting for the UD Basics 2 to become available on the UD website! Taupes and mattes — count me in!

    I LOVE this palette! It has become my go to for everyday and I’ve finally found my HG blending shade (Tyranny). This is how I had hoped the UD Naked Basics palette would perform but was disappointed. Not the case with this palette. Super blendable and barely any fallout.

  • Kalli

    I LOVE this palette too! I originally wasn’t too thrilled with having another matte neutral palette, but the packaging made it too hard to pass up. However, I ended up loving it more than Naked Basics! Vengeance is MY JAM. I’ve been so happy with it!
