Wet n Wild Matte Megalast Lip Color Review & Swatches
There are a few limited edition shades of Wet n Wild Matte Megalast Lip Color Lipstick launching with a new Wet n Wild All Access Beauty Fall 2014 Collection at drugstores now.
Let’s take a look!
The display of the Wet n Wild Matte Megalast Lip Color contains at least eight or ten shades where as only four are limited edition colors. One of which I grabbed up was Urban Night which is a vampy shade of plummy berry red. I really love dramatic shades like this for Fall but I can rarely pull them off well.

I think you can’t beat the price here at $3.69 per shade. This is truly budget beauty at its best as the formula packs incredible pigmentation and very long wear! The formula is creamy but it does drag a little bit on my drier lips. I do find this varies from shade to shade because I have some of other colors in this formula and it does apply effortlessly but this shade there was a little tugging involved. It does set to a super matte finish and wears for at least five hours. Unfortunately I find at the start of the first hour it likes to migrate a fair bit around my lip line! By hour two not only am I dealing with migration issues but it does start to have that dried, caked up appearance on my lips with a weird flaky peeling issues. Not cool!
You might find it performs better on those with less drier lips than my own. A little lip liner is definitely in order as well to keep it from migrating. It performs for a solid five hours but in that time I did feel it was fairly dry for me and not as fresh looking as the initial application, it does fade away and leaves a stain behind at round hour six.
One thing I would like to mention is I really dislike the packaging. The lipstick DOES NOT swivel completely down and I seem to have a knack for slicing off a chunk every single time I put the cap back on. This is very annoying because you can’t snap the top right back on! You have to slowly baby it on less you end up screwing up the entire tip of the lipstick in haste! I just want to snap the top on and go! I do not want to have the babysit a cap…it’s absurd and a poor design!
If you’re a matte fan I can see Wet n Wild Matte Megalast Lip Color as a nice budget pick up. The long wear is amazing but the dryness might prove an issue for those who have issues with drier lips. Anyone else might just get on famously with this formula as it does bring together great pigmentation with an affordable price tag.
