Available in 12 shades the new Butter London Lippy Moisture Matte Lipstick ($22) formula is possibly one of the most intense matte lipsticks I’ve come across to date.

I’d call them a bit of a hybrid formula as they have a matte finish but the creamy texture is almost like a lip butter and did I mention they stain well after they wear away leaving behind an intense staining effect? This formula hasn’t quite made up its mind what it wants to be but it excels at being quite the little multitasker.

Butter London calls Lippy Moisture Matte Lipsticks introduce “a never-before-seen formula” and I do believe that’s fairly accurate. These have a super creamy triple butter complex with a velvety matte set. They provide close to six hours of wear with a gorgeous, creamy texture that glides on lips like a heavy creamy butter. Apparently they have a gel-capsule technology which allows pigments to break and release color as you apply. You only need a single application to provide rich, intense color pay off on lips! They aren’t terribly hydrating but they aren’t drying either and color stays true and intense for a very long period of time. They are designed to not feather or migrate however, during application I experience a little issue with color applying over my upper lip line so a little transparent or colored lipliner helps to “stay in the lines” as you apply. Each lipstick comes housed a slim-line black lacquer square case and they have a subtly vanilla flavor and fragrance.

Although these are already long wearing I should say they actually stain lips well after they wear away. So even after six hours of incredible wear you’ll see at least two to three hours of extra wear thanks to the staining effect they leave behind. In my below photo you’ll see what the stain looks like after 7 hours of wear with the lipstick!

If you’re looking for a matte lipstick that demands attention believe me Butter London Lippy Moisture Matte Lipstick excels at creating drama! These lipsticks provide opaque, dramatic color with long wearing matte finish that’s right on trend for Fall looks! You won’t regret trying one!
