Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm Review & Swatches
Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm ($17) are Clinique new lightweight, low calorie Chubby Stick formula! As a huge fan of the original Chubby Lipsticks I was quite excited to hear that Clinique was introducing a way sheerer version with a lip enhancing formula that gives you an MLBB (my lips but better) finish.
Because lord knows sometimes I just want a tiny hint of color on my lips so people know I’m alive and kicking!
Take a look!
Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm are not going to be everyone’s bag of tea. These are stiffer and a bit denser with a lighter balm-y texture when compared to the original Chubby Stick formula. They also are considerably less pigmented! The formula is fragrance and flavor-free for those sensitive to such issues.
The concept behind the formula is to add moisture to lips as well as a universally flattering shade of color enhancing tint. I don’t find them super moisturizing however, they do add a nice softening balmy texture to lips so lips feel softer as they fade away. They are available in four shades that range in color from a bright red to a pretty lilac purple however, I found all the shades look about the same on my lips! The main difference between the shades on lips is certain shades produce a deeper color of sheerer red on my lips. For example I find the shade Budding Blossom, which is a pale baby pink, gives my lips a light reddish tint where as Coming Up Rosy, a true red, gives my lips a deeper shade of sheerer red. There are very small variations in the colors on my lips that aren’t terribly visible so if you’re planning to purchase all four shades I’d say that was unnecessary!
I did have a moment of, “Darn, I wish Poppin’ Poppy looked peachy on my lips!” but I have grown to appreciate the nice bare lip look these give me. It’ll likely vary from skin to skin tone of course and how much pigment your lips have in them. I imagine if you have very little pigment in your lips you might just be able to see a difference. However, those with pigmented lips, like my own, might find colors all look the same!

If you set the color variation issue aside you’ll likely enjoy these. I’m actually bad about touching up lipstick and gloss as the day progresses and these are an easy way for me to get a dash of natural color on my lips quickly and easily while I’m sitting at my desk. The color does in fact give a very nice lip enhancing shade! If you’re going for a natural look they also look great paired up with a little cheek stain, mascara, and done! So for quickie, natural makeup looks, these are a perfect companion piece.
Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm won’t be for everyone especially if you’re wanting or expecting a full color experience. However, if you want a lip enhancing tint these are the perfect way to splash a little color on without over doing things!
