Hope Girl Milky Balm

I got my Hope Girl Milky Balm Lipstick recently in my Hope Girl Back to School Memebox as you know from my unboxing post I did yesterday. This is my first experience with Korean brand, Hope Girl, and so far I’m quite impressed.

After totaling up the entire purchase price of my Memebox I worked out that I paid around $4.72 for the Hope Girl Milky Balm Lipstick so at this price it was quite a good deal!

Take a look!

I was a little worried about Hope Girl Milky Balm Lipstick as typically “milky” translates as creamy for Asian lipsticks and I dislike cream lipsticks but this formula is quite delightful. I got the shade OR306 (Grapefruit) which is a pretty bright shade of orange but applies a bit sheerer than what comes in the tube. The lipstick has a light citrus-y subtle flavor and fragrance that was quite pleasant and should be too bothersome to sensitive users.

I thought the color rather delightful for Fall but versatile for Summer looks as well! Since we’re kinda between seasons at the moment I’d say this was a great shade for the here and now. The formula is a balmy texture that feels lightly hydrating on my drier lips. It applies quite easily with a buttery feel and at least four hours of wear. It’s marketed as 10 hours of wear but I didn’t really get that much wear from it as it started to fade away by hour five. During that time color remained true and didn’t migrate, feather, or fall into my natural lip lines. The finish has a nice sheen to it so it isn’t the cream I expected in finish or formula.

How adorable is the packaging? This comes in a gold leopard print barrel with a clear see through bottom so you can see the shade color easily!

Overall, at this price I have to admit I thought this was a lovely little pick up! I also loved the other goodies I got in my Hope Girl Memebox and will be reviewing them shortly. This was a nice introduction to Hope Girl and I’m loving Memebox introduced me to the brand. It’s kinda hard to surprise me when it comes to Korean beauty as I’ve tried a good deal of brands but this was something entirely new for me!
