Hope Girl Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil Review & Swatches
I recently purchased the Hopegirl Memebox which included this Hope Girl Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil! The box included five full size Hope Girl products which was delightful as I’ve personally never tried anything from the brand before. Being a Korean beauty fan it’s nice discovering a brand I’ve never tried before since I own and have purchased from so many in the past.
The box’s offerings have been fabulous so far and I’ve been really enjoy the contents.
But…I guess there’s always one dud to be had because I’m not really loving the Hope Girl Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil but I know a few people who love it!
I paid around $29 for the Hopegirl Memebox and after doing some quickie calculations each product ranged out to less than $5 each so this liner was super, duper cheap!
Props to Hope Girl for creating such a well packaged product. This comes in a larger brown box with a leopard print on either side. Inside Hope Girl generously provided a very, very nice double barrel pencil sharpener along with a full size brown shade of Waterproof Eyeliner. The pencil is black with a gold leopard print. Needless to say the packaging is brilliant.
This a matte shade of rich brown eyeliner that oily eyes will love but those with drier eyes likely won’t. I like a very creamy, slick easy to apply eyeliner formula since my eyes are drier. This formula is quite matte and tugs a fair pick during application. The color is quite nicely pigmented but not terribly intense. I find it doesn’t smudge easily due to the drier texture which proves great since the wear is quite well done on this. It doesn’t move once you apply it and truly is waterproof! I decided to test it by swimming with it and the liner wore long and strong without fading, smearing, or smudging. Unfortunately the stiffness of the pencil means it makes for a very difficult to use shade for waterline work.

The Hope Girl Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil is definitely a matter of taste and opinion. If you have issues keeping your eyeliner in place due to oily lids or just because you live in an warm environment this is definitely a formula you’ll love. However, those who like an eyeliner that applies easily without tugging might not adore the stiffer, more dense texture of this pencil!
Props to the amazing wear on this but I like my liners a bit more creamier so I ended up not really loving this one and likely will use it only during super humid days when I want my liner to wear long and strong!
