Milani Enchanted Topaz Lipstick Review & Swatches

Milani Enchanted Topaz

Milani Enchanted Topaz Lipstick ($5.49) is one of three, limited edition shades that launched with the new Milani Bedazzled Collection!

Ok, so far the lipsticks launched with this collection are pretty brilliant however, the formulas aren’t too fab. Sad sigh! And as much as I love the gorgeous nude of Milani Enchanted Topaz Lipstick, I have to say the formula is unforgivable on my drier lips!

Along with limited edition shades the Bedazzled Lipstick selection also comes in limited edition packaging. Each lipstick comes housed in a gold tube with a clear, see through cap.

Milani Enchanted Topaz Lipstick Swatches

Enchanted Topaz is kinda my favorite shade of nude beige. The is a pinky beige shade (heavy on the beige kids) which is a very flattering nude on my skin tone. I love, love the shade but the formula killed me a little.

This is a matte finish sans sparkle or shimmer. The formula is quite stiff and dense. I had this issue with the Milani Enchanted Ruby Lipstick but when warmed up it did get considerably better. Unfortunately, this dry, stiffness does not disappear with a few uses nor did swatching it on my arm a few times “warm” it up. If you want a little gloss on top makes it wearable but if you like a true matte finish you might find this is a little too drug and the tugging during application makes for a less than smooth finish.

If you love the shade (like me!) you might be willing to put up with the drier formula. However, if you’re wanting a creamier matte, unfortunately Milani Enchanted Topaz Lipstick doesn’t bring it to the table!

This is sooo gorgeous! I *love* nude lipsticks, particularly with a gloss layered over it, but the creamier formulas tend to muddle up with the gloss. However, if this one is denser & drier, it may play nice with gloss! I will definitely be picking this one up!

I just tried my Enchanted Amethyst today so I can imagine what you mean. This formula reminds me a lot of the MAC Retro Matte formula. It doesn’t feel drying to me but they’re so matte that they look dry and uncomfortable. It’s definitely not a formula everyone will love

Swatched, this is so pretty, but in the stores it looks like of blah to me. I might have to go and double check this one and the ruby.

Beautiful shade on you! Too bad about the formula. 🙁 I bought this one and Enchanted Amethyst.

I picked up one of these yesterday. Unfortunately the liners were all already gone from the display as were the Enchanted Ruby lipsticks. I agree with your review 100%. The color is really good but it’s a stiff, dry formula. I’m willing to put up with it because I love the color but it sure could use a creamier formula. I’m going to try and track down the Ruby color as well as those gorgeous sparkly liners.

kellly, same experience and same though! I figure I’d gloss over it to make it more wearable because the shade is just so lovely!

Love the shade! Thanks for taking one for the team Isabella as this looks like it sucked the moisture right out of your lips. As you know, I have the worst dry lips on the planet and even have peeling when I use the Bite or Hourglass Lip Balms so this is a pass for me.

I do love the color the though. I wonder if there is anything out there in a similar color that is not as drying? Maybe this lippie with the Bite over it? Hmmm

aw my pleasure. love the shade but not the formula! but no worries gloss makes it look amazing 😀 did you see that revlon shade of lipstick launched this Summer? That’s a good alternative! Nice nude!

I actually am IN LOVE with the formula and feel of this lipstick!!! Just picked it up today and I am obsessed with it. The color is GORGEOUS!!!! And about the formula, i LOVEEEEE it… it feels like VELVET on my lips, lol!!! I was in shock as to how different you felt about it 🙁 i must note that I do have very soft, smooth lips…. perhaps thats why this formula feels like velvet on my lips? xoxo
