Rimmel Bootleg Brown ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick is one of four, limited edition shades of cream eyeshadow sticks that are launching with the Rimmel Rockin’ Around ScandalEyes Holiday 2014.
I already featured two other shades in a post I did last week and I was so impressed with those I decided to go back for backups and in the process picked up the colors I didn’t get!
At a glance, I had thought the two other shades in this collection were a matte brown and a matte black. Turns out it’s a matte navy blue and a matte brown duh! My eyes do deceive me. I honestly have plenty of brown eyeliners, eyeshadows, etc but the ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick formula impressed me so I thought eh, why not grab it. Each pencil was $2.79 after using a coupon for a $1 off that was located on the display at Harmons.
Rimmel Bootleg Brown ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick Swatches
Rimmel Bootleg Brown ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick is a dark bark chocolate brown with a matte finish. It’s a actually a fab color for wearing sheered out or built for intensity or under your favorite brown eyeshadows as a base. The texture is super creamy and easy to blend and the chunky shadow stick doubles up as a color you can either shade with or line eyes with. On my drier eyes I find the color stays in place for up to eight hours and removes easily at the end of the night with eye makeup remover.
The shade is quite versatile. At first it was just a bit meh to me and on some levels it still is because it’s a basic rich brown of which I have many of already. But the nice thing about the color is it multitasks as an all over shadow shade or it can be sheered out for a smokier look and of course, if you’d like to add intensity brown powder shadows in your stash using this as a base prior can really create an intense eye look!
Do you need it?
Maybe not if you already have a ton of browns in your stash but at this price I can’t deny Rimmel Bootleg Brown ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Stick is a lovely matte shade that works in any number of looks!
