Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Sticks (Limited Edition Shades) Review & Swatches

Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Sticks Holiday 2014

Trespassing Taupe and Gold Digger are two of four limited edition shades of Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Sticks launching with the Rimmel Rockin’ Around ScandalEyes Collection for Holiday 2014.

Oh Rimmel you outdid yourself with these! Three out of the four shades are matte in finish and well worth a back up! I picked up Trespassing Taupe and I had a moment of, “OMG Why didn’t I get a backup!?” I think it set me back $2.79 at Harmons after I used a $1 off coupon that was attached to the display. It’s a shade I’ll easily use in simple, daily looks to get a wash of taupe-y goodness on my eyes for quick yet really pretty eyes.

Let’s take a look!

Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Sticks are chubby little cream eyeshadow sticks that you can use for all over shading or as a liner and definer. They have a soft, creamy texture that blends easily onto lids without tugging. The texture is quite lovely and isn’t stiff or dry plus it wears very well on my drier eyes without creasing or fading for about seven hours! I have several shades I own already as these are available in a range of permanent colors!

I was delighted to discover the Holiday 2014 shade selections recently at Harmons. I thought the matte brown and black were a little ho-hum but I did grab up Trespassing Taupe which is a smokey brownish taupe that’s matte in finish. This is really a color I love on my lids as it adds just the right smokiness but isn’t so overkill that it accentuates my finer lines or dark circles.

Another shade I purchased was Gold Digger. Out of the four shades Gold Digger is the only shimmery shade. This is a sparkly buttery gold. This is one of those festive shades of gold that wears easily and if you want can be paired up with either brown or red for a more festive eye look!

As nice as Gold Digger is I thought the real winner here was the delightfully matte and easy to use Trespassing in Taupe! It’s a keeper for those wanting a quick yet elegant smoked out eye!

Needless to say both Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeshadow Sticks limited edition shades are a winner! Not only easy on the wallet this creamy formula applies easily, wears well, and makes for some great eye looks!

I need to get a hold of these eyeshadow sticks. If the Scandaleyes liners are anything to go by, these are probably amazing for even my oily lids. Thanks for the swatches and heads up!

  • Lisa

Those were the exact shades I picked up too, just like you said the brown and black were meh. Heart you Muse!

I have the rose gold color from the special “kate” line and I absolutely LOVE it. Pigmentation and longevity is spot on. I expect these to be the same! They look beautiful. I’d love to pair that gold one with a red lip for the holidays. The taupe one looks fab for everyday!

  • Mel

OMG I love the taupe one!!! I will use it as an eyeliner (with an angle brush).

I love your blog by the way :))

  • Jessica

Think I’m going to have to get the taupe because I’m a little obsessed with taupe shadows! 🙂 I have the Rimmel Taupe liner and its become HG for me so I need to try the shadow stick.

  • LipstickHoarder

Excuse my language but I mfkn want nao lol. So pretty! And there’s a holiday set too?! *cries*

Glad to say I scored the gorgeous taupe finally! I passed on the gold and the brown BUT the other color in the display isn’t black — it’s NAVY! I love dark blue so I did indeed get that one, too!

  • JessieBelle

Argh, I’ve been looking everywhere for these. When I read your post last night I raced to the only Harmon’s in my city, even though it was 15 minutes until they closed. They didn’t have a Rimmel display at all! I want the taupe one so much!

  • Eriu

Hey Muse! Love you in the taupe! How would you say these compare to the Milani ShadowEyez pencils in terms of longevity and tendency to crease? With my uber-watery eyes I’m always on the hunt for products that lock onto my eyes and don’t budge yet stay smooth.

    • Isabella Muse

I have dry eyes so I rarely have issues with creasing Eriu! These have a creamier texture and are less thicker than Milani’s they wear on me the same time as Milani at around eight hours or so. 🙂 hope this helps!

  • Tina

Thank you for the great review!! I can’t wait to find these in a store by me! I just recently found your blog and I’m wondering why I didn’t find it sooner. It’s just great!! 😉

my pleasure tina. check bed, bath, and beyond as well as christmas tree stores they seem to get the displays fastest! aw thanks <3! so glad you're enjoying Musings of a Muse 🙂

I just found the taupe on clearance at my Target! It didn’t look too impressive in the stick, but I found your review so I picked one up. I’m so pleased to find that it’s almost the same as my Maybelline Color Tattoo Creamy Beige, but it’s a nicer consistency! Also, so far it doesn’t irritate my eyelids like the Color Tattoos do.

Love love love! Muse, let me know if you want a backup or two. I’m going to pick up some more for myself 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

oh thank you Belle that’s so sweet! I actually have a few of ’em! I loved the shade so couldn’t resist grabbing a few when I found them 😀 I’m glad you got them on sale!!!!!!

      • Belle

I later on figured out that this shade was added to the permanent line. Oops! Glad you got your backups though. I’m also picking up some more colors 🙂

I got back ups because I was scared it would disappear hehe! I’m glad you got them on sale though!
