Wet n Wild Angels in Aubergine Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Wet n Wild Limited Edition Coloricon Eyeshadow Palettes for Fall 2014

Wet n Wild Angels in Aubergine Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette is one of five limited edition All Access Beauty five pan eyeshadow palettes that launched with the Wet n Wild Fall 2014 Collection.

As you know Wet n Wild 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palettes launched a while back ago but I wasn’t greatly impressed with the texture and formula. So when these new palettes popped up I was skeptical about trying them but so far they have been quite a good round in terms of pigment, color combinations, formula, and texture!

The Wet n Wild Angels in Aubergine Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette is a pretty selection of cranberry hues paired up with blacks and grays for a smoky eye look. This colors, combined correctly, can create a very pretty smoky cranberry eye look. I struggled with it slightly because as I blended colors kept going muddy but this is my own lack of blending skills creating the problem! I always struggled with colored smoky eyes and this is the case here.

The shades do go well together however, the way Wet n Wild suggests using them is sometimes wonky. For example, they suggesting using the hot pink shade on the brow bone. I can’t begin to tell you how wrong that sounds haha! Each shadow has an imprint explaining where to place shades and a diagram in the back further helps in creating your eye look. However, sometimes you might want to skip on Wet n Wild’s suggestions, case in point, hot pink on the brow bone=not a good idea.

Wet n Wild Angels in Aubergine Swatches

Two out of the five shades were a bit stiff and dry, those are the hot pink and white base! They wear workable but a bit on the drier side. The other shades had excellent pigment with a nice velvety texture that blended easily on eyes.

Out of the five Fall 2014 Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette I wouldn’t say Angels in Aubergine was the best but on sale it is worth a pick up! There’s some duds here as well as some hits so it’s a palette that you have to “put up with” in order to enjoy!

The Wet n Wild Angels in Aubergine Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette is available now at drugstores.

I purchased this item.

The color scheme is nice but some of the colors look a little chalky. Thankfully they seem easy to work with though! I may have to check one of these out.

I agree Muse, the way this is labeled is way off. I bought all of these and you are right, you have to tweak some of them but overall I am really enjoying them. And for the price, you really can’t lose.

I got this on sale for $2 and it was definitely worthy, lol. I am in love with the “Definer” shade! The gray is nicer than I thought it would be! It’s lighter and more wearable on the eye! I’ll get that pink “Browbone” shade to work for me somehow. I love pink eyeshadows! OMG can you even imagine putting that on the browbone?!?? >.< The least used will be the black and white. I can't wear black eyeshadow (and I have a bajillion of them bc I love palettes!). I definitely got this palette for the gorgeous cranberry/aubergine and the pink. I'm glad that I like the gray! It's like, BONUS! 😀 I might use the black as liner in a pinch. Glad I found this one! This was the hardest one to find for me (I *needed* that cranberry shade!). XD

I got the “melrose at night” one the other day, and they have the pale pink shade listed as “crease”…. Um, what?! 😀 I dont’ remember seeing this one – it’s much prettier swatched than it is in the pan… I will haz to go back and look for it!!

that browbone color still throws me! WNW needs to definitely reconsider what they are labeling things or if they need to at all! Definer color looks really pretty though!

I Used this for the first time the other day. It was the last of the 4 that I used. I absolutely loved the look I came up with! I used a matte white from a different pallette on the browbone and then used the pink in my crease as a transition color. I used some of the base shade on my inner corner and packed the pink on the rest of the lid. I used the gray on the outer corner and blended into the crease, then I added the cranberry shade on the outer v and blended everything. It really was nice!

Love these too! Sometimes at Walgreens shades that I can’t see anywhere else in Rite Aid, Target or CVS pop up in Walgreens so I keep checking for them! I find different items at different places is becoming a game of hunting but fun! Lol! Last week it was at CVs found the Old Fergie (without the Fergie name) I’ll have a Cismo and Boozy Brunch highlighters. These girl bought both! Beautiful! Happy color hunting! 🙂
