Wet n Wild Coverall Coverstick Review & Swatches

Wet n Wild Coverall Coverstick3

Wet n Wild Coverall Coverstick is a concealer stick I realized I had never tried from Wet n Wild so for $2 bucks I grabbed it up! I admit I dislike lipstick style concealers like this but I have a little bit of a love affair going on with Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm! I mean it’s not going to replace my HG concealers but Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm also comes in a lipstick style packaging and I actually like it a lot.

My thoughts were maybe Wet n Wild Coverall Coverstick Concealer would be a cheapier version of it.

Wet n Wild Coverall Coverstick unfortunately is available in three shades all of which are quite pink in undertone. Sad sigh! This comes in a twist up lipstick barrel so you can just swipe on, blend it out, and go. I guess our grandmother’s had something right when it came to this packaging as it is mighty handy when you’re in a rush and tossing things in your makeup bag!

Unfortunately the formula is a lot like what our grandmother’s are likely used too as well! I was hoping for something creamy maybe with a bit of lighter coverage that I can use on the weekends when I like lighter, fresher makeup. Unfortunately, this is a stiff, dense formula that tugs in a major way! I tried warming it up on my arm just by swiping it back and fourth a few times to see if it would go a bit more creamy but nope! This one is dry as hell and very, very difficult to spread. It tugs really badly and when I finally am able to get a layer of color under my eyes it’s very difficult to blend out.

I was thinking oily eye users might like this but even they may experience a very poor application with it. I did double up using it as an eyeshadow primer (still tugs like nobody’s business) and it really intensifies the look of shadow and keeps them locked into place. Unfortunately, it’s still damn difficult to apply it so even using it like this is a chore.

Wet n Wild Coverall Coverstick isn’t grossly over priced so I don’t feel like I lost anything purchasing this but how great would it be if it was $2 bucks and had a great formula?

Oh well!

Anyone try it?

Do share!

I purchased this item.

Hey, a girl can dream, right? Maybe, one day…some day…there’ll be an amazing concealer stick for $2 that does it all!

Do you think it would work well for covering up acne at least? I don’t mind keeping two different concealers around if they work well for different things.

if you don’t have drier skin yes Sarah. it’s good for a little spot coverage but not a crop up of pimples. I see it sticking and making a crop of pimples look horrible. But if you have a single spot/pimple that needs covering it should work.

I bought this when I saw it and have been able to make it work by putting it on top of a creamier eye cream. Still not ideal, but it makes it workable! I wish it came in less pink variants though.

I love this for acne and under my eyes, I just use a eye cream but I do that anyway and it works perfectly.

Due to I am poor. I’ve had to buy this one many times over the years. & I am able to make it ‘work’ recently i’ve been using Maybelline Fit Me Shine stick in the lightest shade and it has been working better for me. But, you are right this Wet n Wild one drags on your skin like a mother! I have to use a face lotion before I apply it or it just drags on the skin and won’t rub in right. It’s not that great. I had got my driver’s license picture taken while wearing it one time, and the next time I had to get it taken I used Physicians Formula cover stick and there was a major difference in my face not looking as red. xD Horrible. I’d rate it like a 3 out of 10. I can’t stand like NYC’s even more Lol.

Oopsy! Oh! No! I recently purchased the WnW stick and have the NYC older one too. Great tip to use as sort of a primer for eyeshadows. Thanks!

I’ve been using this concealer/correcteur coverstick for about 8-10 years now…I bought it only because I get to work so early every morning that I just put my make-up on when I get there. But one morning I had to do an emergency drugstore run because I realized I had left my make-up bag at home and didn’t want to spend much more than $10 or $15. So, the coverstick ended up in my checkout bag and I’m glad it did. I can see where some might not like it based on their skin type or that it might not match their complexion. For me, however, it is a lifesaver. I have combination skin and also small patches of melasma (prevalent in Asian & Middle Eastern ethnicity)…and this coverstick covers blemishes, dark spots from healing blemishes/scarring, and covers/evens out the discoloring from the melasma. I spot/swipe treat and then blend with my ring finger. I put this on (only on the areas that I need it) after I put on my liquid foundation and then set with a powder all over my face. Because of the consistency, I never put this on under my eyes. I don’t think it’s intended for that anyway…it’s not intended to be an all-in-one. I don’t know of any concealers that are. In my opinion you need a highlighter under the eyes to brighten the area/mask dark circles. The consistency for under the eyes must be different because innately you need more moisture there and the ability to do more blending that won’t settle into creases/fine lines. At any rate, I don’t think there will ever be an all-in-on concealer…different formulas are intended for different purposes AND the make-up industry also wants to sell us more than one product because, at the end of the day, it means more revenue. For $2/year (I get a new stick every year no matter how must is left) it is worth trying/experimenting with.

The perfect thing I have found I thought I’ll share it cause is cheap, is the lightest colored powder in the WetnWild Dulce De Leche contour kit. I pat the lighter color lightly under my eyes and it does wonders. It is finely milled and goes hardly noticeable I feel like getting a second just for that. I don’t use the darker color everyday though but this one is a perfect match for pale skin. Another I like is the Maybelline Fit Me one. Btw, Rite Aid has WetnWikd on sale 30%-50% now! Also Physicians Formula buy one/get one 50% off.
