Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Pralines and Powdered Sugar Review

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Pralines and Powdered Sugar

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Pralines and Powdered Sugar Perfume Oil is yet another fragrance celebrating the birth of Lilith, Ted and Beth’s daughter (owner’s of the Lab). This delicious fragrance promises the scent of praline ice cream and beignet dust! Mmmm I’m such a fan of foodie fragrance oils so of course, I purchased this!

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Pralines and Powdered Sugar comes in a 5ML glass alchemy jar with a label featuring Lilith and her dad, Ted, making funny faces. It’s a whimsical way to celebrate their daughter’s birthday to say the least and I look forward to Lilith’s birthday fragrance oils year after year as many are quite foodie in nature and I love a decadent smelling perfume oil!

In the bottle this has a pure concentrated melted butter smell. It’s sickeningly buttery and not particularly pleasant to my nose. Initially when applied you get a more mellow, pleasing buttery vanilla kinda like a Duncan Hines or a Betty Crocker cake mix scent. As it dries you’ll find it goes a bit play-doh like in scent….after about 20 minutes it morphs and suddenly you’ll be slammed with the creamy scent of gorgeous praline ice cream…caramel, pralines, a bit of vanilla! And yes, somehow, someway, they managed to capture the powdery sugar from a warm beignet!

Needless to say it’s gorgeous!

This one is for the girls and guys who love a cake-like fragrance ones that’s intertwined with the scents you’d find in an old style ice cream parlor! It’s decadent, delicious, and in some ways might bring to mind a cafe in New Orleans selling fresh, hot powdered beignets!

I purchased this item.

Hi muse! So I think I’d like to try out one of the black phoenix scents. What is your absolute favorite from them?

    • Cassie

I know I’m not the Muse, but I loooooove Black Phoenix. What you’re going to like best obviously depends on the kinds of scents you like, but if you want general catalog scents rather than limited edition ones, you can order Imps’ Ears, which are tiny vials that are more or less a trial size and are quite economically priced. That gives you a way to try a lot of them. Personally, my favorite general catalog scents are Poisoned Apple (which is apples and evil), The Coil (mint, ozone, electricity), and Black Pearl (coconut, night flowers, and far-off seas). Depending on what you like I may be able to recommend others, as well!

Thanks! Im planning on buying a bunch of trial sizes. It’s just kinda tough when they describe a scent as electricity! Lol. But black pearl and poisoned apple are definitely on my list now. I’m also really excited to try out some of the alice in wonderland varieties. Im sort of a perfume novice, so I’m not exactly sure what I like, but I think I lean towards foodie scents (like muse!)
