Buxom Winner Takes All Review & Swatches
The Buxom Winner Takes All Mini Full On Lip Polish & Lip Cream Collection ($32) is a new, limited edition set that released with the Buxom Holiday 2014 Collection.
The Buxom Winner Takes All Collection is well worth picking up if you’re a fond fan of the Buxom Full-On Lip Cream and Lip Polish formula as you get six shades of generously sized Lip Polish (0.07 oz each).
I happen to love the formula so I did indeed pick this one up!
Take a look!
I like the Buxom Winner Takes All Mini Full On Lip Polish & Lip Cream Collection because you not only get a variety of colors here but also two different formulas and finishes to try. The Full On Lip Cream formula is a tingling (beware sensitive users as it does pack a tingle) plumping lipgloss with a shiny, creamy, no-shimmer finish. I find the formula slightly tacky with a high shine finish and a comfortable wear. It does tingle a good deal which pushes lips over into the “fuller” look since it is kinda irritating lips to look fuller. Personally, I’m fine with this because I can see it being an issue for those with sensitive skin. I’d say the formula was a little more low key than the Lip Venom formula but still packs a punch with a cinnamon-y minty taste and fragrance. I find the Lip Creams are typically a little more pigmented than the Lip Polish Collection but aren’t fully opaque without some building. The most pigmented shade from the three was Berry Blast as it’s a very pretty opaque fuchsia that’s quite wearable. The other two shades are nudes so they do build nicely but aren’t as pigmented as the more colorful Berry Blast!
Shades include:
- Creamsicle (peach sorbet)
- Berry Blast (vivid fuchsia)
- White Russian (nude pink)

The set also includes three Full On Lip Polish Lipglosses which are more sheerer and do have shimmer. I find the formulas identical and the main difference being the finish. These too, have a tingling effect which make lips look fuller on application. They are slightly tacky with a high shine finish and the same cinnamon-y minty flavor and fragrance! A majority of the shades tend to look the same on my pigmented lips so I’m getting shine and I’m getting nice shimmer but I’m not getting a ton of color. I always find that Full On Lip Polishes can go either way…either they are too sheer or you hit a shade dark enough that you’ll get some color pay off from it as well as the high shine shimmery finish. I think these three colors will work best on those with less pigmented lips. On me I see a lot of shimmery shine but no real color. The most pigmented of the bunch was possibly Trixie for me!
Shades Include:
- Chloe (dollface pink)
- Sophia (sweetheart pink)
- Trixie (24-karat pink)
Buxom Chloe Full On Lip Polish
Buxom Sophia Full On Lip Polish
Buxom Trixie Full On Lip Polish
The Buxom Winner Takes All Mini Full On Lip Polish & Lip Cream Collection is likely a winner for those who love this formula as it’s an easy way to get a variety of shades in a generous size at a value price. However, those wanting a ton of pigment from their gloss formula might find other Holiday sets that offer more in the way of color so hold off and explore better options if you want color, shimmer, and shine! However, those who enjoy this formula and don’t mind the lack of pigment will be quite happy! Personally I love the Lip Polish formula even though it does occasionally lack pigment so I’m happy with the set.
