Guerlain Rouge Parade Rouge G Lipstick 2

Guerlain Rouge Parade Rouge G Lipstick (820) is a new stunning shade of bright red with a luminous finish that’s launching with the Guerlain Holiday 2014 Makeup Collection.

This isn’t a traditional Holiday red lipstick but it sure is gorgeous none the less!

Earlier this Summer Guerlain started introducing Rouge G Lipsticks in color cases! I, for one, love the gold cases but these new cases are kinda fun for an otherwise serious and very glamorous brand. I think the nicest thing about the color cases is the fact it does somewhat (not completely) matches the shade of lipstick so if you have a few shades of Rouge G Lipstick you can now easily tell them apart. I know many people who like this color casing and others who prefer the more traditional luxury gold case. I’m game for either one. I love the gold case yes but also like Guerlain being a little fun from time time time.

The shade was worn by Natalia Vodianova is the promotional images from the Guerlain Holiday 2014 Collection.

It’s described as a luminous red but it isn’t a traditional holiday red in my experience with it. It’s quite glossy and has an easy, soft glide on lips with a pigmented finish that’s sure to please. The color wears for for five hours on from the initial application to a little bit of fading at hour five and completely gone at hour six. It’s light, creamy, easy to wear, and everything you’d expect from a lipstick that set you back $54 (ouch!).

The shade is a pinkish red though and I personally prefer a more warmer red…I’d probably be in heaven if this was more of a brick red as I simply adore the easy to apply and wear formula and texture. It feels cool to me for some reason but the luminous shine lends some warmth to the shade. It does indeed have the traditional Guerlain violet fragrance and flavor but it’s quite subtle.

The case, as with all Rouge G Lipsticks, opens to reveal a mirror for quick application on the go. Yes, it’s quite expensive buy you’re paying for gorgeous packaging as well as a beautifully textured lipstick to go along with the luxury packaging!

That color looks DYNAMITE on you. The glossy finish it has is just spectacular. I wish I could quit you, Rouge G…

beautiful color! I have one of these from a long time ago (mine says Glamorous on the side I think). I really think Guerlain missed the mark with these by not making them refillable. When I called them about it the woman was just a little snotty when she told me there were LUXURY ITEMS.
I’m sorry but luxury doesn’t have to destroy the planet. Not that I think many of these will hit the trash bin, but it is a consideration.
    Just my thoughts…

We all should think and act like you. Beauty doesnt necessarily have to come with more rubbish!
