MAC Objects of Affection Nude + Coral Lipglass Set is one of several new MAC Holiday 2014 Gift Sets that features three shades of MAC Cremesheen Glass as well as one Dazzleglass packaged up in a very delightful ready to gift case.

Let’s take a look!

MAC Objects of Affection Nude Coral Lipglass Gift Set

MAC releases Lipglass Sets yearly so the MAC Objects of Affection Nude Coral Lipglass is kinda a traditional gift set release. This limited edition set is truly a nice way to introduce yourself to the world of MAC or just to add your own MAC Collection as the set is a great value.

This year they went with an aristocratic design for the Holiday Collection and that’s reflected in the packaging which has a stunning cameo embedded into the shimmery white gift box casing. The gift box is beautiful and can be used well after the glosses are gone or removed. You can place small makeup pieces inside, brushes, pens, pencils, anything really! It’s a strong plastic case and quite pretty for just displaying atop a vanity.

Shades included:

  • MAC Stately Shimmer Cremesheen Glass
  • MAC Courtly Coral Dazzleglass
  • MAC Rising sun Cremesheen Glass
  • MAC Fashion Whim Cremesheen Glass

The Cremesheen Glass formula is a lot less sticky and tacky when compared the regular MAC Lipglass texture. It wears comfortably on my lips with a nice glossiness and a hint of color. That’s actually one of my main issues with this set…sheerness! I thought many of the shades aside from Fashion Whim ended up looking the same on my lips as there isn’t a ton of color to be had here. Just recently I reviewed the MAC Heirloom Mix Cremesheen Glasses and they had a ton of color but unfortunately, these seemed to lack a whole lot of pigment!

Dazzleglass is divine. It’s super sparkly but it does have a sticky, tacky finish but that only means it wears really well at around four hours. The shade they gave you Courtly Coral is nice on its own but looks even more incredibly atop your favorite lipstick.

This is a set you do have to be careful with though if you have pigmented lips like mine as all the shades do end up looking identical because my own natural lip color overpowers the sheerer colors. So I get a lot of shimmer but not a ton of color on my lips here!

There is no doubt that the MAC Objects of Affection Nude Coral Lipglass is an excellent value with wonderfully formulated lipglosses! I will express my disappointment at the lack of pigment in these particularly shades of Cremesheen and Dazzleglass though so keep that in mind prior to a purchase. But lord knows there are several other Object of Affection Lipglass Sets to choose from so if this one doesn’t appeal to you, you have plenty of options available from MAC’s massive gift set selection!

Aww, what a bummer that they weren’t pigmented enough for you! I have this and the red one on the way, the cremesheen is my favorite formula because of the lack of stickiness (and I like the scent) and dazzleglass a close second cause GLITTER, YO! So these and the similar sets from last year are all totally up my alley, but I’m so incredibly pale that a fairly sheer gloss can still give me a my-lips-but-better look that I like. I hope you have better luck with other holiday pickings!

tell me what you think when they arrive aunty! curious what you think! my lips are just too damn pigmented for them but I totally agree love the chemesheen formula 😀 haha! enjoy them!

I thought I was the only one who thought MAC could have picked better shades for the gloss sets. They’re all rather sheer which is a little disappointing. I know the Cremesheen formula is more on the sheer side but there’s a few nicely pigmented shades that I would have preferred instead. Like Narcissus and Star Quality.

Helpful review. I wear lipgloss sometimes with liner only so pigment is everything to me. Too bad about this

Its just all a bit boring and a lot of the same due to the lack of pigmentation 🙁
