Memebox Halloween Special

My Memebox Superbox #59 Halloween Special arrived last week and to say I was excited is an understatement. You had to refrain me from ripping into it with my teeth because I love Halloween! So add makeup, beauty, and Halloween together and you get a very excited Muse.

But I was a disappointed….!

Reviews are in on the Memebox site and it looks like a lot of folks loved this ones and there were folks like me who weren’t as excited. The set was $23 and includes 7 full size products. I shouldn’t be too disappointed because it is in fact a Halloween assortment of products. I just worked it up in my head that they would be sending cute Halloween themed products that I could possibly use…some of this stuff, for me, personally, I didn’t really like some of these items.

Memebox Halloween Special Unboxing

The Liquid Lipstick has a fairly nice formula (review upcoming soon) and the Cake Eyeliner seems interesting (haven’t tried yet) but the other items I likely won’t use….!

It is indeed a box filled with some Halloween essentials however, I was hoping for something cuter I guess!?

Anyone grab the box?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I felt the same way. I was so excited for something cute/scary and it all seems like things I could get from the dollar tree. 🙁 Makes me hesitate to get another box

I received my box this weekend, and you can put me in the “disappointed” column! I think the only thing in this box I’ll get much use out of is the liquid lipstick, and maybe the liner colors (I’ve yet to try those out). I found the lipstick a bit messy to apply, but the actual color was a lot nicer than the color on the packaging (not as brown, thankfully), had good staying power and felt comfortable to wear. I looked on Memebox to see if they were selling it in any other colors, but it doesn’t look like they’re stocking it at the moment.

As for the other stuff…I’ve never worn fake eyelashes before, but I guess if I ever want to try I now won’t have to buy any? If the white foundation had been liquid I could have at least used it to lighten up some of the foundations I own that are too dark on me, but I don’t think I can use a cream formula the same way. Temporary tattoos are fun, but most of the designs I got were crosses. I’m not a Christian, so I’d feel pretty weird wearing those, though there were other cute designs I might try for Halloween. And the lip tattoo? What? Maybe it will surprise me, but I have a hard time imagining getting a good result from it.

Yeah, I’m not sure what exactly I was expecting, (stuff with cute black cats or monsters on the packaging? Funkier lipstick colors?) and this stuff is all Halloween-appropriate I guess, but overall I’m kinda bummed. Still, this is the risk you take with blind boxes. 🙂

jenny I felt the same as you! It’s all Halloween appropriate but still kinda felt let down! I guess now is a good time as any to practice my false lash applying technique 😀

I was dissapointed as well. I think I was hoping for cute Halloween packaging, but with products I could use of on a regular basis. On the plus side, I have been getting into special fx makeup lately, so it’s not a complete waste. I hope my next two boxes are less dissapointing.

you’re golden if you’re all about fx makeup as there are a few nice pieces in here that might work! but yeah, it’s just stuff I can easily buy in the US! I didn’t need a box from Korea giving me that stuff, I was expected something way cuter 🙁

It’s ok. I’m in Salem, MA getting my witch on and I’m shopping up a storm. You know, to make up for the sadness of the Halloween box LOL!
