About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I get it’s a luxury brand…. But there is absolutely no point in getting these sets. All of them include permanent items and it’s at the exact same cost as it would be to purchase them separately. If these were all new shades I guess I could understand, but since all of the sets have permanent items one could get at any time Id rather be more selective and just buy the ones that I MUST have instead of a pre selected kit.

I can’t find the set on the bg website. The website is terrible I might add

Some companies get their marketing ideas all wrong.
Urban decay lets you pick the 4 eye shadows you want in your quad so its more personalized.
Not impressed with Tom Fords at all. For the prices they charge you should be able to pick the four colors you want.
Its my understanding Tom Ford has a wide range of lipstick colors. So why not make the customer happy? Especially when the customer is paying top $ for the best product possible, it would only make more sense to cater to the customers needs and wants more.

Ooh, a more “reasonable” option! (My wallet just can’t handle the $600 version, no matter how pretty :P) I can see why people might not understand that there’s not much “value” to these sets, but Tom Ford has never catered to the typical customer-they’ve built their brand around luxury. They are much more packaging and statement focused, much like the Louboutin nail polish, etc. People who will purchase something like this or the larger set probably aren’t concerned with price or getting the products at a reduced cost. It’s what makes measly ol’ me feel extra special or that certain je ne sais quoi when I pull out my single TF lippie for special occasions. While I may never be able to indulge in such pretties, it doesn’t keep me from appreciating how lovely they are!
