Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream Review

Tony Moly Panda's Dream White Magic Cream

Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream is a brightening makeup/cream base that eases the appearance of redness, dark spots, and dullness. I was excited about this because it quite reminded me of Tony Moly Ice Queen Multi Play Cream SPF 30 which I really loved! This just seems a new version of it but with new packaging…!

Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

As you can see Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream comes in an adorable chubby panda shaped container! One of the appealing aspects of the cream is most definitely the cuter packaging! Multi Play Cream had cute packaging as well with a far superior formula.

Like Multi Play Cream this is richer, whipped up consistency cream….I wouldn’t call it a daily moisturizer but more of a primer prior to makeup application or a base. You’ll want to use it prior to makeup and after your regular morning skincare. I find the texture lovely. It’s rich, it’s thick, yet fluffy and soft on my fingers. Unfortunately it is very difficult to apply. For some reason it tugs a bit during application and doesn’t fully absorb so I need to really massage my face to get it fully absorbs into my skin. I find it applies very patchy and uneven so you do have to spend a good deal of time getting it to spread across your complexion evenly and to fully absorb (you can see this in my swatches below).

It does indeed work almost as nicely as Multi Play Cream as it creates a very brightened appearance. However, this translates to some pastiness if you use too much! And even using a tiny amount will give a chalky finish so be sure to use it in conjunction with foundation! As you’ll find under foundation the chalkiness will disappear and this will give skin a luminous brighter appearance. This is particularly great for those with duller skin who want their skin to look more luminous. Beware if you have a darker complexion though…this will work best for paler, fairer, or light to medium skin types but others skin tones might feel it looks unnatural…! Just keep in mind a little goes a very long way.

This contains Water, Butylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Cyclohexanone Siloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Denatured Alcohol, Niacinamide, and a many other cones..(this is not the complete ingredient list). Personally I’ve used base creams like this from both Korea and Japan and although they have Niacinamide (typically good for whitening over time) they mostly rely upon Titanium Dioxide to give that bright, white finish you get out of box. Results are visible within a moment of application and that’s the Titanium Dioxide which gives you those visible results. I find the effects temporary in most cases and never see long term brightening results from them.

This not only has a formula I dislike (the application progresses and absorption kinda stinks) but also a fragrance I hate with a passion. This is a very strong grandmotherly type perfume smell! It kinda smells like Charmin Toilet Paper to me!

Unfortunately, between the absorption issue and the horrible fragrance I’m not convinced Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream is a good pick for me!

If you’re curious to try it you can get it from Ebay.com seller F2Plus1.

I have never tried any thing from Tony Moly before. I live in Hong Kong and should give the brand a try.

Thanks for making me feel not crazy. I used this for the first time this morning and swore it looked like I had a white cast to my skin (I’m already as white as they get so that’s quite a feat). I thought I was just tired and seeing things. Apparently not. Too bad, I had big hopes for it.

same here, didn’t love. people rave it, not me, I look like a ghost!

Ok, I feel kinda guilty. I used this for three days in a row and just couldn’t stand it. Now I have this full container of product that I want to toss. I feel so wasteful. I just know that I won’t use it. Now I feel bad.

I regret buying this. I used it and it never absorbed. My face stays like a blackboard with chalks on it. Had to wash it off after 3 hrs as i dont want to look like a ghost during the day. I dont recommend this product at all.waste of money.

Nice review sis. I have a sample of this cream. I dont know how to use it or what is it for. Thanks for the awesome review. :))

I didn’t know what it was, got it as a sample and instructions were in Korean, so I put it on my face and it wouldn’t absorb so I added a bit of water, rubbing it in and patting off the excess. No chalky finish and a bit of a tightening effect. Hope this helps

  • mily

The same for me ! Love the cute packaging but not a smell and “hard working” with the cream. Anyway… the finish is all the worth …

I used it at night & slept with it on. Husband was sleeping with a white face ghost……… After a couple of days my skin did feel & looked really smooth. I have also mixed a little of this product with my vitamin c drops & slept with it on. I do wish directions for Tony Moly products came in English. It’s a guessing game on how & when to apply. You find so many different ways on the Internet & still not really sure if I’m doing it right.

    • Amelia

You are right. English please. I even look like a ghost during the day.. Disgusting.

First, I had a sample of this given by someone who I got some BB cream for and I actually loved it, so I had to get the large one too. I do agree however that it might be a bit hard to apply, but the whitening effect is really nice (I’m quite pale, but it whines my skin and hides the redness and stuff) if you only apply the right amount!

  • Andrea

I keep getting pimples whenever I put this on. I also have the sleeping pack. I just wasted my money on this one. Had high expectations.

  • Alice

I’m already really pale and when I put it on my face I had that weird ghost look…

    • Belle

Why would you use a whitening cream if you are pale already?

  • Kaitlin

So I’ve been using a sample of this as a night cream cause I didn’t know how to use it but I love it! It slowly sinks in during the night keeping me hydrated until morning. I wake up with an even skin and bright skin tone.

  • Ryna

Will it make my skin brighter after use it ? Or just only when i put them on ? Thanks ~

  • Jess

This is solely a night cream. Not a primer or anything else. After you wash your face, you leave it on your face overnight and wash it out in the morning. Its called a magic cream bc it leaves your face beautiful in the morning.

  • carol

it’s actually a really good product to those with redness or dark pigmentation on their skin..it does make you look like a ghost after, but you just need to put on a little powder foundation after and you’re good to go

  • Cal

hi! so i have been using it for a couple of months and what makes me nervous is that this make work more than people think. Only after i started using it i developed a weird off color stain across my upper nose bridge! My theory is that i didnt rub it in evenly across my face. Dont know if I’m right or not but it is weird to suddenly get this weird hyperpigmentation thing out of the blue, especially on my nose where i barely spread it as i mainly wanted it for my cheek melasma spots.
