About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. The germ factor of face to lip and back and the price will keep my “buy” impulse in check:)

Her prices mostly stop me dead in my shopping tracks. I’m not a combo person, but I’ll buy combo items and use them one way. It’s like those watches where you can interchange the bezel & band…maybe when I was 13 yrs. old that would’ve been cute, but now I’m lucky that I get the battery changed and even then I usually move onto another watch until its battery dies too. lol

I bought the plum (rose and pink are on the way to me). Very nicely pigmented! Also, I use the Trish angeled 65 brush to brush it across the pencil and apply to my cheeks. I saw her do that on HSN with the new bosster pencils.

Hi Muse!! I’ve had my eye on these as well. TM products are just so amazing in terms of quality. She’s got a trio of great colors for $60 on her website now, that I may purchase as soon as she has another 20% off coupon code with free shipping. HSN also has a duo for $47, and $5 off coupon from Mr. Rebates, but one color in the HSN duo is Nude, and I really don’t want that color.

You definitely want to sign up for website emails to buy Trish McEvoy. There are sometimes discounts and often excellent GWP samples with a minimum price nowhere near what the Department Stores require. I like her lash curling mascara, the under eye booster/brightener, and her hot pink lip gloss.

I really really like it! It is one of those tube mascara that removes with water. I like it because it doesn’t irritate my eyes and doesn’t migrate- I have oily lids. I haven’t paid much attention to how it holds curl all day. When I go out and want a dramatic look I use chanel inimitable waterproof. With that I get this great flutter. I’m really happy with Trish’s mascara as I had a terrible time finding eye makeup that lasts all day and doesn’t migrate. Right now I am using the smokey metallic grey Lancôme art liner, the chantecaille shimmery brown eyeliner and Chanel’s plum eyeliner- all water resistant. I am always looking for eye products that don’t irritate, and sometimes it is hard to tell as I put on multiple products at once when I do up my eyes. Normally I just wear mascara, eyeliner, concealor, and or/ eyebrow products.

Side note, I tried Wayne Goss’s tip of removing mascara from the tip and lots from the bristles using a paper towel or tissue (maybe wax paper is most hygienic) and add lots of light layers. For the first time I feel competent in my mascara application.

Right now I’m on the hunt for a nude or brightening (ie hint of pink) lip/cheek combo product for my makeup bag to speed things up when necessary. Any tips?
