Bare Minerals The Magic Act Eye & Cheek Palette Review & Swatches
Bare Minerals The Magic Act Eye & Cheek Palette ($39) is one of my favorite palettes that launched with the Bare Minerals Holiday 2014 Collection. Don’t get me wrong there are many, many makeup palettes that launched for the Holidays and many have made an impression but I think the Bare Minerals The Magic Act Eye & Cheek Palette definitely deserves a spot on my coveted must have, favorite list!
I admit I had some reservations about the new Bare Minerals The Magic Act Eye & Cheek Palette. I’m so used to the 8.0 Ready Eyeshadow Palettes I had a moment of, “Aww man they aren’t doing an 8.0 Ready Eyeshadow Palette this year?!”
Plus I just didn’t like the design of the palette at a glance as it was a flip open palette that looked a little bulky.
Fast forward after I got the palette and suddenly my mind it’s a changing. I love this thing. It’s a fold up palette that has a mirror, easy to follow diagrams for creating two looks, 6 0.04 oz Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadows, a Luminizer (0.09 oz), and three blushes (0.10 oz each). There’s absolutely nothing not to love here! I even feel rather comfortable saying the smallish rectangle palette isn’t nearly as bulky as I imagined and should travel easily should you wish to tote it on vacay with you!
I think what sets this palette apart would be the addition of blushes. I think we get a lot of eyeshadow themed palettes from a variety of brands but sometimes blush isn’t always factored in and this palette includes not only blush but highlighter as well. What also sets it apart is Bare Minerals doesn’t change or cheapen the formula to bring together this great set so you’re getting incredible value and quality here. I feel like sometimes I’ll get a shadow palette from a brand but the shadow formula feels or applies a little differently than the shadows from the permanent collection. Not the case with the Magic Act! The shadows, blushes, and highlighter are just as amazing as if you’d purchased them individually from Bare Minerals.
The palettes shades are a warm dusky rosy natural eye look. The shadows range in color from dusky pinks to taupe, and beautiful rich browns. The Ready Shadow formula is beautifully textured. It’s velvety, buttery, and smooth! It applies easily on lids without fall out issues. Colors are pigmented, beautifully textured, and just so easy to apply. Sometimes Ready Shadow has frosty finish but I had no issues with too much frost! Even the mattes in the palette had a soft, silky feel.

Bare Minerals The Magic Act Eye & Cheek Palette (A-Ha, Pumped, Foreshadow)
Yay! This palette happens to include the Natural High Blush which is my favorite shade of Ready Blush! If you don’t own you’ll be delighted with this golden peach shade that’s as lovely as NARS Orgasm. All three Ready Blush shades have a dense texture but apply flawlessly on cheeks with an even, seamless finish and beautiful pigmentation and long wear. The Luminizer shade is velvety and applies just a touch of golden bronze-y glow to cheeks with a soft, buttery texture that blends out easily.
Bare Minerals The Magic Act Eye & Cheek Palette (The Indecent Proposal, The Premiere, The Close Call, The Natural High)
This set does contain a few shades you might already own from the permanent range so just check your stash prior to purchase. However, if you’re new to the Bare Minerals Ready world this is the palette you’ll want to introduce you to the line.
The Bare Minerals The Magic Act Eye & Cheek Palette brings together beautifully textured, high quality eyeshadows and blushes in one easy to use palette that will create timeless looks for use everyday! This is a palette that’s perfect for those that want an elegant makeup look but don’t want to spend hours creating that look!
