Flowfushi MoteMascara Comb Review
Flowfushi MoteMascara is one of Japan’s best selling mascaras. They recently repackaged (and possibly reformulated?) some of their mascaras so I decided to try out one of the several formulas they offer.
I should probably start this review telling you I’ve used their Little Witch Moisture Mascara in the past but wasn’t terribly impressed. This is actually abnormal as I typically love Japanese mascaras with a passion. I decided to give a try out to Flowfushi MoteMascara Comb in the hopes it would perform better.
Flowfushi MoteMascara Comb are available with several brush applicators I choose the comb one in the hopes it was as good as the Majolica Majorca Lash Extender I adore so much. This has a long, thin comb for application with smaller notches in the head that capture lashes to pull them up and out.
The mascara formula is an ink black lacquer with a glossy, wet look on. I was surprised to find the comb didn’t perform as well as I thought it would. Since it doesn’t saturate with a ton of mascara I expected little trouble when applying but some reason it ends up making my lashes look like a spikey gooey mess. I was shocked considering the comb doesn’t have a ton of product on it when you remove it from the barrel! As I applied it also ended up smearing on my upper lash line making a bit of a mess. It did end up adding some length but not a lot of volume.
I see it working best for shorter, stubbier lashes but being messy if you have longer ones. It does set well without flaking or smudging but does make lashes a bit stiff. The nice thing is it wears very well without smudging yet it easily removes with soap and water!
All in all Flowfushi MoteMascara is a little over hyped for me. The formula was messy, I only got a bit of length from it but no real volume, and it didn’t really make my lashes look as dramatic as everyone seems to rave.
Oh well!
All hope is not loss though as this one seems like a good pick for those with super short lashes.
Flowfushi MoteMascara is available from amazon.com sellers as well as from AlphabeautyUK on Ebay.com.
