NYX Simply Pink Lip Cremes

The NYX Simply Pink Lip Creme Collection is a selection of six chubby lip pencils in a range of pink shades. I actually really liked the Simply Nude and Simply Red Lip Cremes I reviewed recently for you but I have my reservations about the NYX Simply Pink Lip Creme Collection!

One of the things I should mention prior to review the NYX Simply Pink Lip Cremes is the fact they break very, very easily. I had this issue with the Simply Nude shades but not the Simply Red ones however, the Pink shades seem to be the worst offenders.

Out of the six shades I ordered, three of them were damaged just in shipment. What happens is they seem to break off at the base and end up squishing up against the cap! It’s rather awful! So do BEWARE when ordering this online OR when traveling with them as I find tossing them in my bag also results in breakage.

I think the NYX Simply Pink Lip Cremes aren’t as great as the other shades I’ve tried. These shades are kinda difficult to pull off as they have a very white base and end up look unnatural on lips and chalky or even neon in some cases. I like berries and roses myself when it comes to pinks but these have such a hard white undertone many people will likely feel they look bad on lips. They have a very soft texture with a thin cream-like texture. They apply easily with absolutely no tugging however, I find they accentuate the natural lines of my lips and even fall into those lines which in turn gives them a very dry, patchy, uneven look. Clear gloss can easily redeem this situation but if you wanted to wear them alone with a satin finish I find it difficult to pull off as the colors just look very, very dry on lips!

Honestly, between the breakage, the selection of shades, and the poor formula that accentuates every little line on my lips, I really felt like the NYX Simply Pink Lip Creme formula was the worst I’ve tried out of the four color selection releases.

I’d recommend avoiding these ones.

The last color is so pretty!! Going to pass though, since they break so easily.

Wow. Whenever a product has such blatant problems i wonder how many people have inspected it before it hits the shelves. Honestly, who in their right mind would think that this obvious flaw is okay? ! This turns me off to the whole company.

Thanks for the heads-up! You just saved me some cash…I liked the Simply Red lip crayons, too, and was considering these.

OMG those pictures are a makeup junkies nightmare! All that product squished into the caps, makes me shudder LOL!! These colors are very disappointing, they are like Barbie on acid. I can’t wait until these gross shades of pink die out. There are a chosen few that look GREAT in these colors, but most of us can’t pull them off. I look absolutely clownish in these kinds of pinks. I really wish there had been a pretty neutral pink in the mix because I loved the formula of the reds sooo much.

lol yeah and they arrived that way from ulta! absurd! I do too don’t feel bad, too much white undertone for me!

muse – I don’t know about the breaking but the colors look AMAZING on you. every single one of them!

you’re far too kind yelena 🙂 I felt I looked awful in all of them! you’re good for my ego girl!

  • vivodream

I agree with yelena, all the colors looked beautiful! Too bad they arrived in such bad shape but I still love my NYX 🙂

I’m a sucker for pinks so I like a few of these. But I’m not too sure about the formula and packaging. It doesn’t sound or look too great

I just found you the other day and I am obsessed! You have the best reviews! I recently bought a 3 pack of the NYX crayons and when I put one on I was looking at my lips in the mirror and thinking…..what are all those lines on my lips??? Horrible! Made me look old! Hate anything that brings out any lines anywhere! Also, I was holding one of the crayons upside down without the cap on trying to read the label and the entire crayon fell right onto my new living room carpet. NOT GOOD. I wish I would have checked with your site before buying.

aw thanks Dawn and welcome!!!!!!!! 🙂 Oh no so sorry! These were really, really bad! Not sure what happened but cross the board I experienced issues of break, dryness, etc 🙁 not a good product!
