Memebox Pumpkin Pie Cosmetics Unboxing

So way back in early November I ordered the Memebox Pumpkin Pie Superbox #80. Unfortunately it arrived like two days after Christmas….so much for actually wanting anything pumpkin related after the Fall is long gone haha…!

But none the less I was excited about this box! I expected some orange-y blushes maybe a cool peachy shade of gloss!? Or Pumpkin Pie flavored lip balm?

Ah no.

This is probably the last Memebox I order for a little bit since about 90% of the boxes I’ve gotten are A LOT of skincare. It’s hard to get through tons and tons and tons of new skincare so I might just avoid ordering “surprise” boxes from now on and unless they clearly state it’s makeup related I’ll step away. Don’t get me wrong, Memeboxes are still incredibly fun and the novelty of getting a box of Korean skincare and beauty is still very appealing. It’s just that I’ve ordered quite a few boxes lately and most contained skincare so until I use or at least try ALL those I’ll refrain from purchasing!

I admit I was disappointed with the Memebox Pumpkin Pie Cosmetics Box. They did say “cosmetics” but it’s all skincare. Eep! Not more skincare!

But that’s ok, I don’t mind but I did mind that out of everything in the box there was only one item even remotely associated with pumpkins. Talk about fail.

You get:

  • Dearberry Coco’s Secret Recipe Pumpkin (a wash off mask made with real pumpkin! Although it didn’t smell like pumpkins to me)
  • Insobeau Multi Complex V-Line Repair Sleeping Mask (A rich and nourishing egg complex sleeping mask to add moisture and brighten).
  • Enesti Shea Butter Hand Cream Lemon and Verbena (A shea butter hand cream with a nourishing blend of lemon and verbena extracts)
  • Tonly Moly Gold Black Sugar Mask (An exfoliating scrub made from black sugar and honey)
  • Enesti Day to Day Rice & Milk Foam Cleansing (A milk and rise extract foaming facial cleanser)

Memebox Pumpkin Pie Cosmetics

As you can one item out of the five full size products is related to pumpkins and none of the products are really “cosmetic” in nature but merely skincare related.

Sad sigh!

Oh well!

Anyone grab this box and perhaps left feeling as disappointed as I was?

Do share!

I think the idea is to have a set of products related to the actual “ingredients” of a Pumpkin Pie..so stuff like sugar, milk etc would be there 🙂

makes sense not sure about lemon verbena though and the sleeping mask? Are there eggs in pumpkin pie!? 🙂

Uuughh! That sugar scrub looks nice tho – I have a thing for scrubs that dissolve after my eye doc told me how often she has to remove scrub particles from people’s corneas, I know it’s rare and unlikely but now that I’ve heard it I’m all overcautious! 😛 I didn’t get this box but last week I received the tea tree and the cleansing and toning boxes and loved them both! I knew both would be all skin care going in and so there was no disappointment there. The tea tree one was especially nice, with a good variety of products almost all full size. The cleansing box had small jars of Banila Clean It Zero, which is the only makeup remover I’ve ever used that causes me no eye irritation, so I was thrilled to get that too. Sorry this was kinda bland, I hope they put up some good makeup boxes soon!

Yeah, I haven’t purchased any Memeboxes lately since I have too much to go through. Too bad this one didn’t match the theme. If they made this a regular box I think it would have been less disappointing.

  • Martine

Yes, I purchased this also and was very disappointed. No more surprise boxes for me :):)

I got it too. I opened it and took a look and left it all in the box and a couple weeks later it’s still in the box. Ha ha. It’s not that I won’t use any of it, just wasn’t excited about it.

Urghhhhhhh this box!!! The sleeping mask has a short use by date so I have to use it now (not my lovely new Ladykin mask) the wash off mask doesn’t smell of much, hand cream?!?! Also no idea about the pH of the cleanser! I was hoping for some orange lip stains or a TCFS pumpkin mask…alas no

Memebox sent me two boxes at the last quarter of 2014. They were free so I kinda feel shy that Im taking a lot of time before I post reviews because most of the items are skin care. I really like all the items in the boxes. Reviewing skin care consumes a lot of time to completely say if it worked or not, unlike makeup where you can easily review the same day. 🙂

I’ve been a little disappointed with their boxes. They were pumping out so many this past summer. I purchased 3 over the summer and they were great! Hopefully they’ll start releasing some good ones again.
I don’t mind skincare, but it is rather misleading if they say ‘cosmetics’ and all they have is skincare.

agreed! the last few have been iffy! and “cosmetics” kinda threw me!
