Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil BB Cream Review & Swatches

Physicians Formula Argan Wear Argan Oil BB Cream

Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil BB Cream is a new argan oil infused BB Cream launching for Spring 2015 at drugstores (I got mine at Harmons) that’s available in two shade selections.

It doesn’t surprised me that a an Argan Oil BB Cream launched considering Physicians Formula just recently brought out an Argan Oil of their own so infusing EVERYTHING with Argan Oil a la Josie Maran seems the next logical step eh?

Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil BB Cream is quite nice but…

Physicians Formula Argan Wear BB Cream

Very repetitive. Physicians Formula does a nice job with their cream foundation products, bb creams, cc creams, etc…there isn’t any doubt they can do a great cream foundation product however, they launch too many of these products and they basically all have very, very similar formulas. So to buy one for me is basically to buy all of them…I don’t see much difference in the formulas.

On that note let’s see how the Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil BB Cream performs.

This comes housed in a very cute gold bottle with a curved up amrud or onion top. Honestly, I’m a nitpicker and you might be too because the packaging is cute but the fact that the tube wouldn’t stand up due to the onion shaped tip drove me bonkers. I have a little shelf that I keep by BB Creams, foundations, etc and I like to stack them standing up and the fact I can’t do that with this tube drove me up a wall haha…

The formula has a light fresh fragrance that reminded me of hand cream! It was very pleasant and pleasing to my nose but sensitive users might not love it. The formula itself is weird because the first time I used it I could swear it had a mousse-like texture but the next day I tried it again and the formula was creamy and after that I ended up with a little bit of a separation issue. So it seems it morphs a bit with use?! But for the most part it’s a creamy texture that blends easily into skin and has a nice lightly hydrating feel but more of a soft, satiny dry down. The Argan Oil both scared and delighted me as I was worried it would make my dry skin dewy or slick but it actually dries down to a soft, lightly satin finish so I think both drier and oily skin will like it. It doesn’t cling to drier areas and has a smooth, even finish on my skin. Coverage is very customizable as you can apply a little for a light, sheer finish or you can apply more for fuller, medium coverage.

The formula contains 100% Argan Oil as well as SPF 30. It’s marketed to hydrate, brighten, tone, and improve the elasticity of skin. My duller skin looks quite good after application. Not necessarily brighter but a lot less lackluster. The wear time is around five hours for me before I saw signs of fading. I didn’t set with powder so I imagine once set you can extend the wear considerably.

Overall Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil BB Cream is a nicely formulated BB Cream but I’m not sure it’s terribly groundbreaking. It just seems a lot like many of Physicians Formula past products…..! They tend to do their bigger collections releases in the Spring and most times it’s a lot of repetitive products and I just felt like Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil BB Cream was a rerun with a new name and some Argan Oil thrown in to make it sound interesting! For someone who follows the brand it could be uneventful however, if you’re new to the brand it is a promising product.

Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra-Nourishing Argan Oil BB Cream is launching now at drugstores.

The formula sounds nice but I wish Physician’s Formula offered more products for women with a little more melanin. They make the prettiest products but I rarely buy them because the range is so limited

Or a little less, LOL! I shy away from several items, particularly “base” products because they are too dark…

      • Mia

Amy you’re not alone. I shy from PF because I’m about a NC20 at darkest. These shades are made for at least NW25-30 at palest.

  • Trina Botner

what color in MAC would compare the “light” shade too? Im about an nc10 (nc15 is too dark) and its difficult to see how light that one is or if it would blend in well? : )

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not really sure trina sorry as I don’t use mac foundations so not to familiar with their shades!

    • Jilly

Hey Trina! I’m an NC 10 as well and I can definitely say that PF products in the “Light” shade are too dark for me. They match NC 15 and higher a lot better.

      • Trina Botner

thank you : ) I figured as much, the pf foundations never have enough shades : (

I don’t know if anyone know it, but there is cheaper dupe for MAC pro-wear concealer! It is called LA Girl pro concealer, and it comes in a ton of shades from Ivory to Deep Cocoa, and it is about 3 to 5 dollars!

    • Isabella Muse

haven’t tried the la girl concealer yet but hearing good things thanks Joseph!

I am not touching anything with Argan Oil in it unless it has Josie Maran’s name on it! 🙂

@Fancie, I have the same problem with Physicians Formula. Most of the time they only offer light or light/medium in the foundation/bb cream range. I contacted them through e-mail to ask why this was and nobody responded. They do have cute packaging though. I wish they were more inclusive to deeper skin tones.

I really like phycisians formula but I’m ginger and fair skin and they really don’t think about us! I want use much more healhty concealers under my eyes but couldn’t find it.. I use bobbi brown tinted moisturizer in alabaster and only I can use but of course not working under my eyes.. Physicians formula hear us! much more color shades we need! ^.^
