Rimmel Radiance BB Cream Beauty Balm

Rimmel Radiance BB Cream Beauty Balm is one of two new BB Creams that are launching with the Rimmel Spring 2015 Collection.

Rimmel released their original BB Cream Beauty Balm in the US back in Spring 2013. I liked it but didn’t love it however, I feel like they did a great job with the reformulation of Radiance BB Cream Beauty Balm!

Take a look!

Rimmel Radiance BB Cream Beauty Balm is actually one of two new formula as there is also a Matte BB Cream Beauty Balm available for Spring 2015 as well! This is 1 oz BB Cream size that will set you back around $6 at Harmons drugstore.

It is marketed as a 9 in 1 formula that primes, smooths, conceals, minimizes pores, moisturizes, brightens, provides natural coverage, and awakens tired skin. Apparently it has a Vitamin C Complex which awakens tired skin as well as an SPF 20 to protect.

The original formula had an SPF 25 and had considerably less pigmented than the new Radiance formula. I actually like the Radiance formula a lot more than the original. Sure, it’s slightly over marketed with the 9 in 1 formula but it’s still a very easy to wear, lightweight BB Cream that provides sheer, natural coverage.

I think the formula us a lot less sheerer than the original formula but it’s still quite sheer none the less. It has a creamy gel-like texture that absorbs easily and leaves skin soft and hydrated. The finish isn’t dewy nor is it satin but has a lightly hydrating not shiny or greasy set. It blends out very easily and has a very nice amount moisture so the formula absorbs easily without clinging to drier areas. I was worried about the “Radiance” portion of the formula as I thought it would be glow-y or luminous which isn’t a finish I like in my BB Creams. Thankfully it isn’t! The formula is brightening and eases dullness very nicely but isn’t luminous or sparkly. The coverage is just enough to even out skin tone, ease dullness, conceal minor redness, and perfect already good skin. Drier skin should be very pleased with this formula as you get the benefits of a lightly hydrating formula as well as one that will ease any dullness your dryness creates.

The original formula definitely showed signs of being more of a tinted moisturizer but the Rimmel Radiance BB Cream Beauty Balm definitely has more coverage and a nicer finish. If you like your foundation more natural and lighter you should get on well with this little BB Cream!

And the best part? If the Radiance formula isn’t for you, the new Matte version will be. So two great new BB Creams to choose from this Spring!

Rimmel Radiance BB Cream Beauty Balm is available now at Harmons and should launch at mass drugstores in January.

I have the matte version and it is definitely my daily go-to. Can’t wait to try this one too!

I like the matte one but it’s very runny for me? Just wish it was a creamier consistency but I’ll definitely have to try this one!

    • Isabella Muse

weird, radiance is quite creamy! haven’t tried the matte yet…! Sorry Carrie 🙁

This looks promising. I’ll def be giving it a shot. The color range for the pale people like myself looks on point which is hard to find sometimes. Also I literally have TOO MUCH makeup.. Whether it be foundation, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner etc… How do you manage? Especially with foundation/bb’s. Do you rotate or what’s your secret? I have more than I can use in a year with multiple products..

    • Isabella Muse

I typically rotate seasonally as not all formulas will work for me in the Summer/winter/etc so I rotate 🙂

Hm, Light looks like it might actually be light enough for my skin! I’d passed on Rimmel’s previous BB cream (even the lightest shades had an Oompa Loompa look to them) but the color and the higher coverage for a BB cream means that I’ll have to keep an eye out for this and give it a try. Shame that Rimmel stuff is sometimes so slow to roll out in my area. Hopefully I can get my hands on this sooner rather than later!

I’m always skeptical of “__ in 1” anything, usually because I find that some small quality is sacrificed for the sake of convenience. I may have to give this beauty balm a try, though. I have dry skin all year around, and I need something that hydrates!

    Muse, there’s some typos.

    – “Rimmel Radiance BB Cream Beauty Balm is actually one of two new formula (*formula’s*) as there is also a Matte BB Cream Beauty Balm available for Spring 2015 as well!”

    – “The original formula had an SPF 25 and had considerably less pigmented (*pigmentation*) than the new Radiance formula.”

    – “I think the formula us (*is*) a lot less sheerer than the original formula but it’s still quite sheer none the less.”

    – “It blends out very easily and has a very nice amount (missing *of*) moisture so the formula absorbs easily without clinging to drier areas.”

Typos no typos it’s the content I come here for including the lovely pictures that show us the products and the thoughtful reviews which provide us great info as we determine if a product is for us or not. I for one appreciate your amazing site as it is evident you devote so much time, consideration, and care to it so readers can benefit And we do benefit from your hard work – I am sure Modesty wouldn’t allow you to admit it is a lot of hard work – and certainly you can tell your love of the products and the industry in general shines through your posts. And tho this daughter of an English professor and triple masters degree educated reader certainly realizes typos when I see them – and likely a couple in my quick post here- I certainly could care less and happily scan over any too busy enjoying the content and planning all the lovely items I will buy as a result of one of your posts. I’m a busy stay home mom who relishes in my free time to enjoy a select few blogs like yours. And I rarely comment as it not only exerts energy but takes time away from me catching up on content. But when I do comment it will always be to show my appreciation and excitement over a product as life is too short and way too fun to worry about typos Ms Muse so no worries! And of course sharing some of the pics with my daughter who enjoys looking at the pictures over my shoulder as I read on occasion. Happy New Year Ms Muse! We look forward to all the great posts 2015 will bring – typos and all!

aw thanks Kimberly and I totally apologize in advance for any typos 🙂 or missed words or general grammatical craziness. Sometimes I’m really busy multitasking at work and trying to blog so I end up screwing up when I’m typing a review and I sure do appreciate that you don’t mind the errors 🙂 <3! You totally made my day with your beautiful comment 🙂 Happiest New Years and thanks for overlooking my typos hehe!

I really enjoyed this review! Can’t wait to try it. Just wondering, how does it hold up against your standards for Korean BB creams? Is this product comparable or is it another western disappointment?

    • Isabella Muse

hi jill unfortunately it isn’t like a Korean BB Cream but it’s a nice formula none the less.

Great review! Does anyone know where you can find this product online? I’ve actually just finished writing my own review and was searching for a link to add to my post. I know Ulta has the matte version but I was hoping you might know a link for the radiance formulation. Thanks so much!
