Shiseido Maquillage Dramatic Melting Rouge Review & Swatches

Maquillage Dramatic Melting Rouge

Shiseido Maquillage Dramatic Melting Rouge recently launched in several shades in Japan. It’s such a shame we don’t get any of the Shiseido sub brands here in the US such as Maquillage because the Dramatic Melting Rouge is testimomy to great drugstore makeup!

Shiseido Maquillage Dramatic Melting Rouge is a new lipstick enriched with oils that provides a “melty” smooth, creamy formula with a high shine finish. I personally LOVE shiny lipsticks but they feel like such a rarity without piling on shimmer and sparkle.

Shiseido Maquillage Dramatic Melting Rouge Swatches (RD 526)

Shiseido Maquillage Dramatic Melting Rouge is a gorgeous melty lipstick that has a super shiny finish and incredible texture that glides onto lips with a slick, oil-like texture. You’d think this would lack color but it’s a full opaque lipstick on a single swipe. The lightweight texture is a treat on my drier lips with a slick texture that wears for a solid five hours and provides a beautiful hydrating formula with a high shine finish.

Maquillage isn’t one of my favorite Shiseido brands but I can’t deny that the thing they excel at most are lipsticks! These quite remind me of T’estimo’s incredible but long gone range of lipsticks.

Which drugstore lippies in America have that kind of slip? The Revlon Lip Butters have varying levels of slip depending on the color in my experience…

this shade looks nice on you Muse! fantastic for xmas party I reckon!
I just came back from Japan a week ago and this lipstick was everywhere on commercial!! I chose to grab Sofina Aube’s new lipstick instead of Maqulliage.

aube’s new lipstick is divine excellent choice judy! 🙂 I’m jelly you went to Japan! How long were you there?

      • Judy

oh I was there for 10 days only. I wish I could’ve stayed longer. Japan is such a magical place. I love Aube’s new lippy too, i would’ve gone for Shiseido but Aube had a massive 40% off

I haven’t been in a few years and very eager to get back (for the makeup alone haha and the cool drugstore sales)! Fasio has a new one as well which I have a review upcoming for, it’s quite lovely! Nice balmy shiny lipstick 🙂

I don’t understand the flat, fat bullet shape. What is wrong with the classically pointy teardrop lipstick shape? It annoys me that it’s my more expensive lipsticks (Dior, Urban Decay, Stila) that require a lip brush while I can apply or touch up most of my drugstore lipsticks on the go. Why am I paying more for someone to make my life harder?

    OK. Rant over.

    Hi Isabella,
I had one Maquillage Dramatic Melting Rouge and I only used it once and I lost it. :(((
I want to get the same one that I’ve lost. And I checked on adambeauty.com and I couldn’t find it on there. Can you send me the direct buying link of the rouge on adambeauty.com, please? I really want to get it back! Thank you in advance!
