Smashbox x Donald Robertson Lipstick Launch

The Smashbox x Donald Robertson Lipstick is a new partnership with illustrator Donald Robertson will kick off this month at Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles. I’m unsure if there will be entire makeup collection in collaboration with Donald Robertson but I suspect for Spring 2015 that is indeed what Smashbox and the cult favorite illustrator have in the works.

As of now Smashbox has released a limited edition sleeved Legendary Lipstick in Bing (bold cherry red) to celebrate the collaboration.

Keep in mind Bing isn’t a limited edition shade! The sleeve/packaging is the only thing limited about this lipstick. For the collaboration, Smashbox Cosmetics selected its award-winning Legendary Lipstick in Bing to characterize the intersection point where the Smashbox Cosmetics aesthetic and Robertson’s art meet.

“Smashbox Studios has built a legacy as a place where creative collaborations between artists, photographers, and creative talent can come to life. We are always looking to art for inspiration. Since I’ve followed and admired Donald’s work for many years it made perfect sense to work on this project together,” said Davis Factor, Smashbox Cosmetics Founder and Celebrity Photographer. “His illustrations, use of different mediums, and overall sensibility really spoke to me as being the ultimate personification of the Smashbox lifestyle. I knew we had to do something with him.”

Smashbox has been known to team up with artists such as Curtis Kulig in the past so I’m excited to see what comes of the Smashbox x Donald Robertson collaboration.
