Bare Minerals Modern Pop Marvelous Moxie Lipstick

Bare Minerals Modern Pop Marvelous Moxie Lipstick are a range of limited edition shades that launched with the Bare Minerals Modern Pop Spring 2015 Collection recently.

These are super cute because not only do you get a Marvelous Moxie Lipstick but each shade comes with their own lipstick case!

Take a look!

Bare Minerals Modern Pop Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks

I avoided neutral, nude eyeshadows like the plague when I started up Musings of a Muse! I was all about aqua, green, purple, the louder the shadow, the better. Now I can’t get enough brown, gold, and nude shades of shadow.

The same holds true for nude lipsticks and glosses. I have dry lips so that isn’t always a flattering environment for nude lipsticks but also, nudes in general, always make me look evil dead girl-like. I think around last year I started really getting into nude lipsticks and glosses and started to become obsessed with finding the perfect shades that suited my skin tone.

Bare Minerals Modern Pop Marvelous Moxie Lipstick Swatches (Dream Big, Express Yourself, Fall in Love)

Moral of the story, if you’re a fan of nude lipsticks you’re going to love on the Bare Minerals Modern Pop Marvelous Moxie Lipstick! The good news is these are a lovely selection of nude lipsticks but the bad news is they are limited edition. So…if you love the shade best stock up.

These are $2 more than the regular line of $18 lipsticks but they do each come with their own pink polka dot lipstick case. I’m all about accessories so I thought the lipstick case was a very, very cute extra. Hell, all lipsticks should have their own case! It should be a law if you buy a lipstick that you get a case for it ha…! The silver barrels are also decorated with a polka dot design.

These come in three shades which kinda sorta represent light, medium, and dark skin tones. I’m of the mentality anyone can wear any shade of their choosing! But sometimes nudes are picky so these shades do gradate in color from lighter to darker to flatter lighter, more medium, and deeper tones. Personally I thought the darkest shade, Fall in Love, looked best on me.

The formula was a little iffy on these. I typically like the Marvelous Moxie Lipstick line! It’s quite creamy, opaque, and lightweight. The Modern Pop shades are creams but they have a drier formula that drags a fair bit during application. The colors are beautifully pigmented but I thought the drier formula made them look a little patchy on my lips. They did revamp the fragrance and flavor as it isn’t minty but more like a vanilla mint now! Take Charge is one of my favorite shades in this line of lipsticks and I was hoping that the Modern Pop shades would relive some of the goodness but I think the shades are a little too chalky and milky (aside of Fall in Love) for me to totally love them.

The Bare Minerals Modern Pop Marvelous Moxie Lipstick really had me excited but the formula didn’t quite capture my attention. These felt very dry to me and applied poorly! The addition of a case as well as the really pretty shade line up make them appealing but the formula unfortunately disappoints so you might want to keep that in mind and do a swatch test prior to purchase.

The Bare Minerals Modern Pop Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks are available now at Ulta, Ulta.com, Nordstrom, Nordstrom.com, and other Bare Minerals locations.

I really liked fall in love on you and I like that shade a lot myself but since you said they don’t apply great, will probably skip. I wasn’t awed by that eye palette either. And that light liner for the eyes is just weird. I think this collection was a miss for me.

if you don’t mind a little gloss on top Amber, they are wearable but some reason formula on these was dry to me, dragged a bit during application 🙁 oh gosh did you read my review on the posh neutrals? It actually was really nice!!!!!!! I haven’t used the liner yet, but some folks like nude liners to brighten up there eyes, I look silly in it but it works for some folks 😀
