Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask with Natural Charcoal Review
Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask with Natural Charcoal is a new take on Biore’s popular Self Heating Mask (actually I think Biore launched it last year but I’m just now trying it). God, I remember thinking that Biore Self Heating Masks were the sh1t in high school. I was positive my skin was looking all kinds of crazy good after using it!
For a while Biore stopped making the Self Heating Masks but they reintroduced them and more recently they have a new Self Heating One Minute Mask with Natural Charcoal. Charcoal makes an appearance in SO many skincare products in Japan and Korea it’s surreal. Almost all nose strips are charcoal based plus you’ll run across tons of different cleansers sporting the ingredient. Apparently, it’s acts as a magnet for dirt and oil and gets pores super clean.
So does Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask with Natural Charcoal make my skin amazings!?
Naaa. It probably does more harm than good but I admit I love it anyway. The new version of the Self Heating One Minute Mask now contains four individual packets versus the old version that contains eight pods.
I hate the new packaging. It’s hard to get the mask out of the packets in my opinion. The pods used to be considerably easier to squeeze and get out all the product. The packets are a pain and I feel like I’m wasting product. It also stinks that the new boxes only have four masks versus the old eight pack version plus the price is around the same $5.99-$6.99 mark.
To use the mask just wet your face and start massaging the mask onto your skin for about one minute. It’ll heat up (I freaking love that part) very briefly as you massage it on. It has smaller grains so it does gently exfoliate as you work it in. After a minute you can rinse it off. My skin is pretty dry and this does strip it considerably so I’m left feeling quite dry after using it. My skin tingles a bit after use and feels quite squeaky clean but still dry none the less (the same holds true for the original formula).
All in all it contains some harsh ingredients including menthol (those the tingling) that will irritate most people! I don’t make a habit of using it often but in the Summer when my skin is feeling oily this makes for a great way to exfoliate and whisk away oil quickly while giving my skin a deeper clean.
If you liked the old version I’m sure you’ll enjoy the new Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask with Natural Charcoal. Those with sensitive skin might want to avoid this one!
One a negative note the fact they give you less for the same price is buzz kill!
