Put Kat Von D Lock-It Featherweight Primer ($32) on the things we need now list please. I’m always on the look out for a good facial primer and considering Kat Von D’s Lock It Foundation is pretty gosh darn amazing perhaps the new Lock-It Facial Primer will be too?

It’s water based! Hear that? It’s me crowing hurroo hurroo (aka hooray)!

Kat Von D Lock-It Featherweight Primer is a new lightweight, water-based facial primer that hydrates, smooths, and reduces the appearance of pores while extending the wear of makeup. It’s infused with a ton of hydrating ingredients such as B5, aloe, jojoba, and shea.

It contains polymers that help even out the skin’s surface and makes it smoother so your foundation doesn’t have a cakey finish!

Don’t worry, this dry skin girl will be testing it out for you and giving the good word (or bad one) shortly.

But if you can’t wait you can get Kat Von D Lock-It Featherweight Primer now at Sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Tempted to buy it now or at the very least, get a sample! *__* The fact that it’s water-based is a huge plus in my book. I’m currently using the Clinique universal primer which I quite like but it’s not the best at ensuring my makeup stays on for many hours. I’ll be awaiting your review, Muse!

Ooh, water based you say? Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. My skin doesn’t tolerate traditional, silicone based primers so I’m very interested in this.

  • Tiffany

How do you think this would work for someone with oily skin? I have oily skin and I LOVE the foundation. But do you think the mattifying power of the foundation would balance it all out?

it’s hard to say how it works tiffany as I haven’t tried it yet. I’m sorry.

Why does Kat von D have such amazing products lately?! She is stealing all my money (or I’m just handing it over like a fool). Can’t wait for a full review!

PS you said waste based up there the first time

I like the sound of a water-based primer. I hate the feel of silicon.

I have it and I absolutely love it! I have extremely sensitive skin and haven’t had a reaction to it and it leaves your skin so incredibly soft and smooth – I was amazed! Makeup goes on beautifully and looks flawless.
