Lorac Unzipped Cheek Palette1

Lorac Unzipped Cheek Palette & Alter Ego Set ($30) is a new Lorac Spring 2015 launch that includes four blushes and a full size Lorac Alter Ego Lipstick.

With the lipstick, that’s normally $16 itself, this turns up as a great value! It’s almost like you’re paying merely $14 for the blush palettew which I think we can all agree is a very nice deal.

Let’s take a look at the Lorac Unzipped Cheek Palette and see what the good word is!

I remember the Pop Rose Belle Blush being one of my very favorite blush palettes and the Lorac Unzipped Palette reminds me so much of it! The design is very similar (although Pop’s palette had eight shades of blush and not four)!

This is a sturdy cardboard flip open palette with a full size mirror that contains four shades of blush that range in color from pinks to peaches! It’s a nice assortment of blushes with an excellent formula and beautiful pigmentation!

The blush shades included Underrated which is a medium a pink with soft matte finish, Unashamed which is a bright shade of cooler pink that also has a matte finish, Unapologetic which is a dusky bronzer rose with a matte finish, and Unimaginable which is a light peach with a luminous glow-y finish.

All the shades had excellent pigmentation and a long wear of eight hours on my drier skin. They apply and blend flawlessly into skin but three out of the four shades are quite pigmented so do use a lighter hand during application! I was a little worried about the majority of matte finishes here but I didn’t experience any dryness or density from the colors and they all applied easily and blended out flawlessly! I was very impressed with the wear as from morning until well into the evening the shades remained true and didn’t fade in intensity. It was almost as if I had just applied them coming out of an eight out of wear, they remained that intense and strong on.

The Alter Ego Lipstick included with the set is the Girl Next Door which is a permanent shade so if you love the color it’s easy enough to replenish it. This is matte finish cool toned pink with a very opaque finish. The Alter Ego formula is very thick, very matte, and quite creamy with a vanilla fragrance and flavor. You can read more about my thoughts on the formula by seeing my Alter Ego Review where I’ve swatched other shades and discuss the formula more in detail!

How does this compare to the elf studio blush palette? They look kinda similar, different shades of course.

i didn’t like the elf palette so probably wouldn’t say they were unlike 🙂

The LORAC blushes are much higher quality; the formula is much more buttery. I like the e.l.f. palettes, too, but they are more powdery.

Ordered this last week from Ulta with the 20% coupon, cannot wait to get it, been stalking the UPS driver!!!

Going to Ulta tomorrow for Unzipped Gold, and might pick this up too. It looks so pretty. I have a hard time with blushes. They don’t show up or the shade is never quite right. Have a huge pile in the graveyard under the category of “okay” but don’t wow me.

Love this palette! Got it last Friday and have used it every day! You are correct, it goes on very heavy if you aren’t careful!

I’m pretty sure you killed my lemming for this and I thank you!! My fave thing lately has been putting on a ton of blush and I think I would look like an idiot doing that with this palette. Also the shades look too dark/brown for me.

i dont love the lipstick for my skintone, but i NEED the blushes. $30 is still pretty good for four blushes and i’ll just gift someone the lipstick.
