Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm Review & Swatches
Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm are being repromoted for Spring 2015 in a new Rita Ora Rimmel Collection that’s popping up now at drugstores! I’ve actually never tried the Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm formula so the new display was a good way to finally check them out!
Let’s take a look!
I only picked up a single shade which is entitled The Redder, The Better. As much as I LOVE chubby little lip balm pencils I feel a little overwhelmed lately! My stash is currently being dominated by chubby lip pencils so yeah, it seemed like a good idea to grab one rather than ALL the shades. One thing to keep in mind is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm shades are repromoted in the Rita Ora Spring 2015 Collection so you might already have some of these.
These are a typical chubby lip pencils that twist up are fall under the “self sharpen” category. They do have a vanilla/cotton candy-ish fragrance and flavor that I would pleasant but sensitive users might not love this! It does wear away fairly fast if that’s any help.

Initially I hated the application! It dragged, applied patchy, and just wasn’t one of the better experienced I’ve had with chubby lips pencils. The pencil seems to have a dense outer surface that needs to be “broken” through before you get to the creaminess underneath. After that first application the pencil warmed up considerably and the outer shell kinda wore down to unveil a much creamier consistency formula under it. From my understanding, none of the shades really have shimmer and that’s the case with the color I choose. And as per the name the color is indeed very intense and pigmented with an opaque finish that wears a solid five hours.
I don’t feel the formula is terribly hydrating or moisturizing but also not unpleasant or dry through the wear. They have a hint of a sheen but this wears away within an hour and the color remains creamy but sans any shine.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Intense Colour Balm has a lot going for it. It’s not the typical moisturizing chubby pencil but it does live up to it’s name of being very long lasting and quite dramatically pigmented! Don’t make a snap judgement on these though because they do need a little warming up to look their very best.
At $6 bucks you can’t beat the price either.
