Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Stick Review & Swatches

Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Stick

Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Stick are a new four shade permanent chubby blush and lip pencil that launched recently for the Spring 2015 season. I love the idea behind multitasking, time saving products but I don’t always love actually using them in the way they were designed. Like a cheek and lip pencil sounds like such a time saver and so handy to have in my purse for quickie touch ups but my germ-a-phobic good nature has me slightly curling my lip up at the idea of using one product on both my lips and my cheeks!

Ya know?

But none the less the Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Stick actually turned out to be a one trick pony (I don’t like they way they wear on my lips so cheeks it is!) which saves me from unfortunately having to use them on both my cheeks and my lips.

Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Sticks

Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Stick at a glance remind of Clinique’s Chubby Stick Moisturizing Cheek Colour Balm! These are a chubby swivel up pencil with a dome shape that you can swipe onto cheeks easily, blend out, and go! Love no nonsense beauty!

They are $10 each but Ulta has SO many sales on their product line that you’ll never pay that much for them (Right now they are Buy 2, Get 2 Free so that’s a steal right there)

These have a smooth creamy texture that blends easily onto my drier skin without clinging to drier areas. They offer sheer to medium color pay off and build easily enough if you want a little more POP! The colors all have a soft, smooth finish on skin without looking shiny, feeling greasy or dewy. They set to slightly powdery texture with a nice bit of luminosity without being shimmery or sparkly. I like how easy they are to apply!  I also love they aren’t easy to over do as they look natural no matter how little or how much you apply! Unfortunately, on my drier skin they tend to fade really fast at around two hours.

I tried them on my lips but they tend to look unnatural, uneven, and with a drier finish. The colors or at least the ones I purchased weren’t very flattering for lip wear nor was the formula.

All in all Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Stick makes for nice flush of color on cheeks when you’re in a rush! Or will fit nicely into your makeup bag should you wish the touch up your blush quickly and on the fly when out and about. The wear isn’t fabulous nor is the formula multitasking (I think they look best on cheeks but not on lips) but they make a nice pick up for traveling or on days you’re going lighter with your makeup!

Ulta Lip & Cheek Color Stick are available now at Ulta and Ulta.com.

I just ordered these from their website. Got all four colors to take advantage of the sale. I was not planning on using them on my lips either so my expectation was just that they are a decent cream blush. Sounds like they are. Thanks for the review. Can’t wait to get mine now.

I have teflon cheeks, and cream blushes don’t stick well, so these probably won’t last more than 30 min on me.

Did you try these on your sister or someone who is darker skinned? I always fear that blushes won’t show up on my brown skin. But these are super cute, reminds me of the flower beauty ones.

Wow, Ulta is coming out with so many new things! I might check these out with that 2 for 2 deal because I’m super interested in their new eyeshadow primer and matte lip creams!
