VERY disappointing collection. I would expect a tie-in with Disney to have 1) Better packaging (it’s TOO PLAIN!!). What about a sparkly glass slipper on each item or something?? 2) Tired of these non-existent “nudes” being passed off as colors!! I would expect that Cinderella wore a brighter lipstick to the ball! She didn’t look like a corpse! This collection looks like it’s for an 11-year old who’s never worn makeup before . . . I can’t wait until the “nude” craze is over so we can get back to working with COLOR!! The Toledo collection was WAY better for me LOL!!!

    • Karen

I totally agree! The packaging is way to boring!! Also i can barely see how the brushes are different.

      • butterdaisy

I agree again. When I saw the brushes I’m like “huh? Cinderella? Where? How?”. Haha! If they had dressed up the brushes like they have done with brushes before I would have purchased my first MAC brushes bc I love Cinderella so much. Oh well!

    • Janeen

You’re so right. It looks super cheap. I’m passing on this one. I just don’t want to look at something so ugly in my room. I’ll wait till another collection comes out.

    • diana

I totally agree. Don’t get me wrong I bought some if it and love I love it but I thought the same thing initially where’s the glass slipper and sparkles? I broke down though im just starting my collection. I agree the toledos is awesome packaging and colors. I wish mac would coordinate the names of the products with the movies better. Im so glad they changed secret lover to free as a butterfly because I see a butterfly on her slipper and I hope she quotes that in the movie. I was really disappointed with the names in the rhps collection oblivion, bad fairy, formidable? But no dammit Janet.

  • Rilee

Ooooh I love! I wish they would have got a little more creative with the packaging, but I still plan on buying a few items 🙂

Is the pink beige beauty powder supposed to be more of a all over face powder or a highlight?

    • Isabella Muse

sometimes beauty powder can be used all over the face, I haven’t yet seen this in person so it’s hard to say as sometimes they are too shimmery for all over use!

  • Lauren

Not interested. They could have done something much better with the packaging. I am not interested in plain blue packaging that says “Cinderella” on it. There is no creativity in that. They should have done something more like the Sephora Disney Princess packaging from those collections a year or two ago. There is SO MUCH they could have done. What a wasted opportunity.

    • Angel

This is exactly how I’ve felt about all the Disney/MAC collaborations. I’m a huge Villains fan and I didn’t purchase a single thing from either the Villains or Maleficent collections. It felt like they just slapped a sticker on it. ELF has done a better packaging job for $9.99 with their collections.

It just bums me out. I collect makeup AND Disney and it would be so awesome to have a cool collectible of both. MAC has done some really cool packaging with tons of other collections. They seem to phone it in when Disney is concerned. I don’t even get excited anymore over upcoming collabs because my heart has been broken to many times.

  • yelena

agree with everyone on the packaging being a bit too plain :/ a little glass slipper or pearl or something would have been nice.
although I won’t lie, the eyeshadow palette looks gorge! not sure if its worth $$$ tho

  • Sarah B

I love Cinderella, but I have never bought any MAC products. How are there eye shadows, face powders, and lipsticks? I am one of the few that like the “nude” colors, so I am looking at those as possible purchases.

  • Elizabeth Fisher

Wow! The packaging is a big let down. The only thing I’m interested in is the eye gloss. Strange enough. It’s the only thing in a MAC collection that’s different.

  • Amy

I like it. I personally like that the packaging is simple. It has a sort of understated sophistication. I don’t buy tons of MAC, but I may have to indulge in this.

  • Danielle

I wonder if MAC Cinderella Iridescent Pressed Powder Coupe D’Chic light golden peach with gold shimmer could be worn as a blush.

  • Tracy

There’s a few things I like, and might get… but I went to get all 3 of the blush ombres today and I was so disappointed, they swatch with zero pigmentation ! And the packaging is a cheap white plastic. I’m kind of hesitant to buy some more MAC right after a 130$ wasted.

    • Isabella Muse

the ombres are very very very dense but I like they way they apply! also, agreed, plastic packaging no mirror surprised me!

  • barbara

I was so excited for this new collection. I was hoping it would be like the Sephora Disney collections with beautiful packaging, but it is so plain I don’t see anything that screams Disney to me. Guess MAC just saved me some money.

  • Sarah S.

OK I guess I am nearly alone in thinking the packaging is gorgeous? I love this powder blue iridescent color. This is exactly my prom dress circa 2001 (as I was reminded by my prom date recently posting our prom pictures TBT, LOL). Also got my first MAC makeup for that dance! Pure nostalgia for me. I’d pick that same dress now 😉

  • Carrie

For those upset with the packaging, from what I understand they went with more simple packaging because it’s for the live action not the animation.

    • Sarah

Even so, slapping a logo on is just cheap and lazy, whichever way you slice it. They could have used some sort of imagery. I really dislike MAC’s packaging for these collections. Most of the time it’s hugely uninspired when there are so many things that could be done! These look like drugstore products.

  • Sarah

Those are not the actual brushes, right? I was thinking about getting the 217 if it has a pretty blue handle.

    • Isabella Muse

those are the brushes in the press kit sarah which I got directly from mac.

  • butterdaisy

Got so excited when I saw the title of this post, but disappointed as I scrolled down. Not what I imagined at all. Cinderella is my favorite character, along side Ariel, and I wanted to be able to buy a lot from this collection like I did with the Summer 2014 collection. Oh well, does save me plenty money as other have stated. I may get one lipstick and one eye gloss but that’s it and if I don’t get them I won’t be upset. Where is the nail polish for us lacquerheads? 🙁

  • Jennie

They didn’t even try with the packaging. ELF’s Disney collections look much better than this.

  • Irene

I think what a lot of people don’t think about is that because this is Disney licensed collection, MAC is more than likely restricted with the design of the collection’s packaging. Disney is VERY careful with how their brand is represented. I’m sure Disney wanted something representative of the new live-action movie than the their animated version. While I agree that the packaging is rather plain, I still find it rather lovely, simple but whimsical. I think the lip colors are a bit bland but I love the sparkling Lipglasses and the two pressed powders will be mine(!).

    To each her/his own I suppose. 🙂

  • Jules

Some of these look like leftovers from Alluring Aquatic, especially the lipglasses. Actually, it seems like every other collection looks like a previous collection! I wish Mac would go for quality over quantity, and enough with the Disney.

  • Chantel

Hi muse! I’m new to Mac, just recently did a haul with them online , and was curious is the beauty powder a mineral veil/setting powder? And the iridescent powder a luminizer/highlighting powder? I like the simplicity in the packaging and am soooo excited to try and get a lot of these items, I just hear Mac collections can sell out really fast . Thanks for all that you do with your blog, I love checking your page daily 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

it depends with the beauty powders some of the shades can be used all over your face Chantel and some can’t because they are too shimmery! I’ve gotten shades that have worked great to set makeup and brighten my face where as others I could only use as highlighter! The cinderella ones Have good deal of shimmer so you might just want to highlight with them 🙂 I hope this helps and that you enjoy your goodies! and thank you for visiting and loving my site so much 🙂 that means so much to me!

      • chantel

Thanks so much Muse! That is really helpful and good to know , I will be all over Macs site this Thursday lol thanks again, and hope your work load isn’t as stressful or busy as last week was for you 🙂

        • Isabella Muse

oh it’s been cra cra chantel but thank you for asking 🙂 I’m glad the review helped and hoped you got some lovely goodies from the collection!

  • Renee

I’m looking forward to this as well as the bao bao collection out on the same day! Does anyone know what timezone and hour the release will happen in? I plan on pulling an all nighter 💋
