Maybelline Tangy Tulip Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review & Swatches
Maybelline Tangy Tulip Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick is one of a few limited edition shades launching with the new Maybelline Rebel Bloom Spring 2015 Collection that I recently blogged about.
I believe there are four shades of Rebel Bloom Lipstick in the display which surprised me as Rebel Bloom launched back in December for Spring 2015 so I didn’t expect to see new shades popping up that quickly.
None the less I think you’re going to like Maybelline Tangy Tulip Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick if you’re of brighter oranges!
Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick is a permanent lipstick launch however, Tangy Tulip is limited edition.
These are marketed as creamier pastels that are bright, never washed out, dull, or shy according to Maybelline. It’s kinda the same concept of Maybelline’s Bleached Nudes Collection in my experience. It’s a product with vivid color but also wearable and not too bright or too bold. Or at least that’s been my experience with Rebel Bloom.

Rebel Bloom apparently have honey nectar in the formula perhaps this is what gives the texture a balminess. This formula considerably differently formulated than Color Sensational Lipstick’s main collection. The balmy texture is sheerer yet still manages to have nice wearable intensity. They drag a little initially but soften up and feel very balm-like on my lips. They aren’t super moisturizing but not drying either and provide lasting color for a nice four hour wear with a slight sheen finish. They do not have the stronger vanilla play doh like fragrance and flavor of the original line, it seems more subtle in this formula.
Tangy Tulip is a bright tangerine orange. Shades like this is where Rebel Bloom excels in my opinion. I like oranges, I like tangerines, but typically they can be a little bold for me and I look silly in them. Maybelline manages to create a nice balance of pigment so shades I’d typically shy away from suddenly look a hell of a lot nicer on my lips! I love how wearable this shade is. It’s bright yet not to intense, pigmented yet not to bold, it strikes a perfect balance so I can wear it easily without looking like a clown. I have hopes they’ll do a few reds in the Rebel Bloom like as I think they’ll be very easy to wear.
As Spring comes nearer I’m sure you’ll be reaching for your fav shades of orange, coral, and peach! Maybelline Tangy Tulip Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick is an excellent and wearable shade of tangerine that will work from Spring to Summer easily!
