Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion

Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion ($7.99) is pretty much the perfect product for peeps like me who hate to apply body cream after a shower. Body cream makes me feel sticky and tacky and I just hate applying it! Ugh!

So if I can take a shower and get my daily dose of lotion too? Well, that would be rather awesome.

And that’s exactly what Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion does!

Available in three formulations Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion is a multitasking demon that lets you skip out a step of your skincare regime by allowing you to apply your body cream as your shower! SCORE! Love this idea. First off I’m a busy person and if I can skip a step or two in my skincare regime sign me up. Secondly, I hate the sticky feeling of body creams and moisturizers on my skin particularly because my clothes cling to my skin after application yak!

Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion allows you to apply your lotion in the shower! Nifty right? This is a thick, creamy lotion with a delightful fresh fragrance! I apply it all over my arms, legs, and body as I shower and I rinse it off. Sure, I realize rinsing it off sounds odd…! But it’s quite hydrating so even though you rinse it off your skin still feels soft and smooth after your shower. It leaves a bit of a film on your skin after your step out of the water and you can just basically rub your towel over your legs and arms to allow the left over lotion to fully absorb.

Best part?

No stickiness!

It leaves my skin super hydrated, soft, and smooth with daily use! No more ashy elbows and knees! And well after my shower, like hours later, my skin still feels super hydrated and moist!

There is a tiny downside! You have to be super careful getting out of the shower as it can get mighty slippery! So be sure to clean up your shower stall after each use to avoid slipping.

If you’re anything like me and just want to skip the entire body moisturizer deal you can do so now with this Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion! Totally an easy way to get my daily dose of moisture super quickly and easyily without the sticky, tacky feel!

Loves this!

Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion is available now at drugstores or grab it online at drugstore.com.

I really want to try this. My skin is so dry this time of year and I hate putting lotion on.

Love the idea. Would a shower spray help to clear the residue in the tub each day? Right now I clean the tub once a month and I don’t to do it every week.

    • Isabella Muse

should help or just run really hot water around the stall to melt down the residue. In the AM I don’t have time to clean when I step out of the shower so I run the shower with really hot water to rinse down soap/shower gel/etc..seems to work for me!

Hi Muse. I got this a couple of weeks ago when my local Walgreens got it in stock. I have very dry skin and I got the version you have pictured. Unfortunately for me, it isn’t enough. The moisture was good for a couple of hours but then my skin was dried out again. I think this products effectiveness may depend not only on your skin type, but your climate. I live in AZ and it’s warm and quite dry here right now. I’m hoping that when our very hot and humid summer monsoon season hits, this will be enough for daily moisturizing. It sure is convienent.

hiya deb. so far so good here. I have dry skin too and it’s pretty cold here at the moment, it’s proving enough to keep my legs nice and smooth! 🙂 Let me not jinx it though haha!

I have to agree with Deb. My skin felt hydrated for a few hours, but not anywhere near 24. Even 12 hours is a stretch. Personally, I’m not a fan of the scent either. Maybe that’s just the way all Nivea lotions smell though. I don’t regret the purchase, but I probably won’t buy it again. I’ll go back to using Neutrogena body oil in the shower (which leaves the same amount of slippery residue in my shower).

thank you so much for posting about this!!! while i wanted to love this product, and think its a great substitute for the Lush body conditioner I’ve tried before, both are a bit problematic for my very sensitive skin!!! the shea butter version i tried of this still seemed to contain a floral scent in addition to the shea that I wasn’t expecting, and which my skin can’t tolerate 🙁 I think this will work for mostly everyone, but just a warning to those very sensitive skin!!!

    • Isabella Muse

my pleasure. Aw sorry dear! 🙁 Maybe they’ll create one for sensitive skin types in the future! one can hope!

I love the idea of this! I feel the same way about putting on body lotion..ive got about a milloin tubes of it, and i always say that i will use it sometime, but YUCK indeed!

This isn’t really a new product. It’s new for this brand, but it’s been around for a decade. If I’m not mistaken Jergens was first to the market back in 2004. Then Bath & Body Works had one, it was part of their Aromatherapy line. Then Olay made one. The last time I saw it in stores was probably less than two years ago. I don’t know if they still make it, I haven’t sought it out in forever. Living in Hawaii for so long I didn’t have much need for moisturizers. Some days I was actually fine to skip it altogether it’s so humid there. But this would have been a nice one that would have helped with the sticky slimy feel you sometimes get in summer.

It is a good product, and I’ve tried all the brands I’ve mentioned. I’ve found they all work the same. Aside from making the tub pretty dangerous (I know someone who had a serious fall after using the stuff) it’s a worthwhile purchase.

I really was going to buy this. But I worry I won’t get it cleaned up enough and my husband will slip in the shower, so when I read the back of the bottle, I didn’t buy it.

Is it real easy to just tun some hot water in the shower after getting out to get it off the floor of the shower?

    • Isabella Muse

works for me pamela but it’ll probably vary from shower to shower, depends on the tiles in your shower, etc….you can try it and see if it works. either way be careful, this is very slippery after use!

I was searching high and low for this procudt and couldn’t find it in store!! My coworker loves it.

  • Charlotte

I got some of the other type (I think, we have different packaging over here) when I saw you mention it before. I love it too – I’m equally as crap at putting on body lotion (as in never!) so this has been a first in my 38 years and now I’m regularly using some form of moisture on the bod! Luckily I have very oily skin but I am really enjoying this, thank youx

    • Isabella Muse

yay happy to hear it Charlotte! yeah I’m totes lazy applying lotion too 🙂 I shouldn’t be though, I’m dry as hell!

  • Madison

Well this is something i am for sure going to get! i’m so lazy when it comes to applying a body lotion! xD
    thanks!!

  • Bonnie S

Judging from the comments, I must be the ONLY person who likes putting on lotion after a shower!! I have very dry body skin, so I put a ton of product on; and then a ton more – and the goodness lasts 24 hours – I don’t think an in-shower treatment would do anything for my scaly legs and itchy arms!! Not in this -30C Toronto weather!

  • Jay

I was SO excited to try this because I am chronically late for work, and skipping the slather-my-whole-body-in-thick-lotion step has left me with alligator skin. I like it the product, but it certainly isn’t enough and if I don’t lotion at least every other day I’ll get itchy. Its an interesting concept for people without especially dry skin but I wouldn’t consider this a true lotion for me. Ah, well. Maybe in the sticky summer heat it will be better! I just bought the Aveeno shower oil so hopefully it’s more moisturizing!

Hi, I heard great reviews of the Olay & disappointments regarding Nivea bc it’s usually known as a great moisturizing brand. I think I will get the in shower body wash but I will also back it up with Nivea lotion, the most moisturizing kind there is. I just think you should try it for a longer period of time but I think I will just back it up with the moisturizing lotion.
